Hypothetical Question

Hypothetical Question

Let's say you work in McDonald's and a customer orders a Quarter Pounder plain with no cheese or anything else.

What do you think they are trying to purchase?

If you went to the McDonalds here in Merrick, you would end up with a Filet O' Fish sandwich and an attitude!

Re: Hypothetical Question

you want a hamburger...but a bigger one than the regular ones...

I always have a problem when I ask people to hold things (I can't stand mayo or mustard) and I ALWAYS ask to hold it...and it is almost ALWAYS put on anyway...

Re: Hypothetical Question

Thank you!

Apparently in McDease - it means a burger with cheese. While I was waiting for another sandwich to be made the manager said 'You should say Quarter Ham plain.' I flipped a little and said 'Well I think saying no cheese & plain is pretty clear. You should train your employees to listen to the customers and process and prepare the sandwiches to order.'

I always have this problem, I don't know how many times I have asked for them to 'hold' the whatever and the server brings the meal out saying 'I know you ordered this without x, but they put it on anyway'. To which I say, then bring that back to the kitchen and bring out what I ordered.

Christine...I get mad too...but then I think that this is a minimum wage job...

Re: Hypothetical Question

Mcdonalds actually pays pretty well- not minimum wage anymore. I know someone who works there.

Erica - I get furious. I don't know how many times I have had to send things back. I sit there with no meal while everyone else eats then they are being offered dessert while I am still eating.

Then on Saturday Don picked up a bagel for me it was supposed to be with a little butter. Of course the dam n thing had cream cheese I wanted to go back to the store and smear the cream cheese on the counter. Don was like, it's a bagel

Although when I get this angry I think maybe I should take a kick boxing class to release some pent up anger or get some anger mgmt counselling. (BTW I never act on these rages )

Re: Hypothetical Question

I was much like you until we lived in the LES...and there is a strip of fastfood places on Delancy...every single place...every time screwed up my order...that I more grin and bear it...

but I hate when it happens at a restaurant!!!!especially when the waitress doesn't write things down...

I always feel like I have to justify myself...'I don't like salad dressing...its not just b/c I'm on a diet' and DH asks why I tell the waitress that...but I have found if I don't relate to them in some way...they won't remember...

Re: Hypothetical Question

I TOTALLY understand your vent!!! I'm sorry the McD's worker was such a dumbass!

I'm a big 'on the side' or 'hold the ____' kind of person, and I'm VERY specific, but yet too much of the time the order is WRONG!
Nearly every Sunday Patrick goes to the SAME deli for our 'treat' breakfast, and I order 1 egg over easy with bacon on a roll EVERY SINGLE TIME. I'd say I end up with cheese or ketchup every third Sunday or so. The cheese I can tolerate, but the ketchup makes the whole thing inedible to me, and ****es me off to no end!!!!!

Re: Hypothetical Question

Erica, I do the justification thing too. I usually claim to be allergic to whatever it is that I'm asking to have removed.
