need a dance for my step-father and I. All the songs talk about the father raising the daughter and holding her when she was born. It won't be appropriate for us - he came into my life when I was already grown. Ideas please!! (You Raise Me Up, My Little Girl & My Wish are already being used for other dances) TIA

I have a similar dilemma. My father just wasn't there when I was growing up. Yeah, I saw him on some weekends and things like that, but he didn't raise me, my mother did. I felt it would be a lie if I danced to a song about a father and daughter growing up together so we're going to dance to The Way You Look Tonight.

That's a good song given your situation.
My sister danced to that with my bio father at her wedding last year so I don't want to use the same one.
I've been searching endlessly, just having found something that has clicked yet.

This is a great one! I was thinking about What a Wonderful World bc my stepfather was actually my chorus teacher as a kid and we sang this song in his chorus. I thought it would be meaningful because of that. But since he and I are the only ones that would 'get it' I didn't want it to seem to everyone like an I chose an impersonal song for him. Oh boy - I think this is causing me the most confusion out of everything so far. I'm probably reading too much into it!
