I started buying the Sunday newspaper last weekend and have been clipping coupons like a good little girl. I went to Waldbaum's today and made out like a bandit! My original total was $117.53. However, after all of my savings card, coupons and bottle deposits, the grand total came to $83.34. I saved $38.13!! I especially loved that they doubled of my $1.00 coupons, so I'm sure I got some things for close to nothing or nothing.
I have become a coupon freak. Next trip to the store, I'm going to try to save $40!

Re: I am a coupon freak!
That is sooo great I have to start cutting coupons again.
I think I beat you today...with the help of grocerygame.com ...my total was $260...went down to $180 with my club card...and with double coupons...$140!!! (it would have been lower if DH hadn't come and kept throwing things in...like $7 package of pistashios!! )
I saved $120!!! I did buy things I don't usually get...but the website tracks the sales and coupons...so I get to try things for like $1 or less...
anna and tammy are going to be proud of us!!!

Geez...I thought I did good by saving $42.65! You did great!
someone had posted it on the home board...but they track the sales and coupon trends and tell you what to buy and what not to buy (when you should save your coupon for a better deal)...right now I believe that it is only shop and stop in the NY area...but the first 4 weeks are $1 and I have saved so much...
and DH just said today that he likes the variety...last week he got pinapple cups to snack on...this week Quaker crispums...
oooh...I just looked at my bill and she rang in 3 hotdogs!!! I only got 2!!! can I go back and get my money back? just my word? maybe I'll call tomorrow...

Re: I am a coupon freak!
I was happy that they had really good coupons this week! If only they would stop the save 1 dollar for 6 items! Here, they only double (sometimes triple) up to 99 cents!
BTW, you should be able to get your money back for being overcharged. I know here in my county, they have to pay 10 times the amount they made the mistake on too!
