I am a nervous wreck

I am a nervous wreck

Ladies, I think I am going crazy. It is hard forme to post about this, but I think I just need to hear that I am not alone. Since I have started my leave of absence, not only has my free time increased, but so has my anxiety level. My mind is constantly racing with worries about the baby - childcare issues, going back to work, finding a pediatrician, money. (BTW, I am not even going back to work for a whole year so it's not like this is an immediate concern here). I have also developed this new sense of insecurity with my DH - like I constantly need reassurance from him about our relationship, sex, etc. I think this is the hardest part for me because it has come out of nowhere - I am not a needy or jealous person AT ALL. My DH has been so supportive and understanding but I just hate myself for feeling this way. It feels like I am supposed to be happy all the time and the fact that I am not makes me feel guilty and like a terrible person. Thanks for letting me get some of this off my chest, it always helps.

Jessica,

Im so sorry youre feeling this way . Its totally normal as you enter a new phase in your life to be concerned or question or wonder about what changes will come with this new part of life.

It sounds like you have a wonderful hubby, and I KNOW you are a strong woman, and you WILL BE an amazing mommy and wife.

I know its easier said than done, but try to focus some of your free time before the baby, on YOU. Get a manicure, write in a journal, go out for coffee with a good friend, etc. and maybe go on a date or two with your hubby!

Im sure everything will work out great and you'll be posting your wonderful stories in no time!

Lots of hugs to you sweetie!

That is sooo completely normal. I had breakdowns before the baby came worrying about how to 'do' everything and worried about everything you just described.

Don't waste this precious time worrying!! Enjoy some time alone with your husband and enjoy some alone time for yourself -- seriously!! You will do just great. Just like all the rest of us who knew nothing and manage to get by every day!! Plus, we are all here for you!!!

I totally went through the same thing. Let's face it, you are going through a life altering experience, huge changes and you are feeling unsure about many things.

Let me assure you, you will be a terrific mom, you will find very capable child care (just like I did in your MIL ) and your husband will remain as great as he has always been (actually, he'll be better in your eyes once you see him with your son!)

to you. Feel free to FM me if you'd like to talk
