I am at a lost!

I am at a lost!

Quick story...

I was always skinny, met my DH almost 12 years ago, gained weight over the years, about 5 years ago, couldn't stand the way I looked, started working out and eating better, over the course of 3 years lost about 50lbs., got nice and toned, right in time for our wedding , then eight months later got PG, by my 9th week had to stop working out cold turkey, couldn't breath doing the easiest exercise so over the course of my PG I gained 65 lbs! My body just went into shock I guess, and also my son was a big baby... he was born 10lbs 12oz., so that didn't help, but now my son is 16.5 months old, and 8 months ago I started working out again, but I have yet to lose 1 lb.! I've only gained weight. Now I know you gain muscle and muscle weighs more, but I don't see any muscle. It's really, really upsetting because once you know you were able to lose the weight, and then you can't for some reason, it's very depressing. I wanted to lose weight for when we want to TTC again. I didn't want to put weight on top of weight because that's not healthy, you know and I'll just feel worse about myself. I don't know what to do? I'm eating better, working out, but nothing. I've never had this problem... it's just since I had my son my body just gave in, and won't work anymore. I've had all the blood work done. Everything's fine... except my Cholestorol which is probably because I gained weight. The first time I lost all the weight I was also taking Metabolife for the first 2 years. I know it helped, and I really want to take it again, but I don't want that crap in my body this time. At the time I didn't even know that Ephedra was in it!

Anyway, can anyone help me! I don't have the money to join any WW type programs. I just don't know what to do anymore. I feel like a fat cow! Before I got PG, I was a size 7/8 and now I've been a size 14. I could accept being larger if I knew I couldn't be skinny, but once you lose weight and feel beautiful and sexy, it's impossible to accept. I'm not trying to lose 50lbs again. At least 20 maybe 30. I'm just really discouraged since it's been over eight months almost 9 months and I have nothing to show for it. Please... can someone help! I hate feeling like this.

Thanks for listening.... sorry for being so long!

I am so sorry you are feeling this way and goin through this.

There are a few things we need to know before anyone can give advice...

You said that you are eating better and working out. What are you eating? What is your typical meal plan and at what times to you eat?

What do you do for exercise and how often?

Re: I am at a lost!

Well... I eat fruit during the day, sometimes side items from KFC, sometimes pizza, Cheerios for breakfast, and for dinner it depends. I try to eat chicken, yes it's fried, baked potatoes, grilled cheese, eggs, etc. I try to eat healthier, but it's really hard since I have a 16.5 month old, and I work FT, and don't get home until 6-6:30pm, and my DH isn't home a lot because he works a second job at night, so it's hard to just cook for me and my little one. Dinner I usually eat by 7:00pm. Most of the time it's by 6:30pm. I drink at least 64 oz of water a day during the week, on the weekend I don't drink any. I do weights 2 times a week and cardio at least 3 times a week. I take my son for a walk in his stroller 2-3 times a week too, and sometimes I do my Tae-Bo tapes.

I do have McDonald's with my son once a week, but it's only once a week. I know I could be eating a healthier dinner, but we can't afford most meals. Money is tight right now. I'm clueless, I'm doing everything I've done before and lost the weight, it's just this time I'm not taking Metabolife and I had a baby.

So I don't know why I'm having such a hard time!

Re: I am at a lost!

I totally understand where your coming from I was a size 14 then I dropped to a size 7/8 and then became prego and now I am a 14 again I would love to get back into a 7/8 or even a 9/10. I am trying as well to loos the weight I do eat healthier and I try to exercise. So far I have not lost anything I also was on trimspa back then and that helped.

I jsut don't know if it would help again now that they took ephedra off the market its not in any of the diet pills or appitite suppressants anymore they totally took it off the market. I jsut feel like I am

Re: I am at a lost!

You do have it tough with working full time and being a mom.
You really aren't eating right. I understand about not having time, I get home at 11:00 every night and wake up at 5:30, so I totally understand.

Surround yourself with healthy food. You shouldn't be eating side items from KFC. That type of stuff is so unhealthy. Eliminate as much fast food as possible.

Grilled cheese is not a good choice for lunch because of the fat, salt and lack of fiber. Try to eat grilled chicken and vegetables. for snacks, try fat free yogurt, or other fat free-low fat dairy products. Limit your cheese intake all together. A serving of nuts is also a good snack.

Try to eat 5 small meals per day. Can you pre-make your meals when you have time?

I hope this helps. Good Luck!!
