Going shopping for BM dresses I thought I had a dress picked out...Yeah it was flattering on me but apparently it would not be flattering on my BM for a variety of reasons...I have not seen anything else that I liked AND that would be flattering on all of the girls...The main concern is that a few of my BM have big boobs...so I need something supportive on top for them

Re: I am avoiding....
You could always have them each wear something different made from the same fabric and dress manufacturer - a lot of us are doing that. I can only speak about my own BP, but each of them are VERY happy.

AWW that stinks I know its hard when the girls are different sizes or have different proportions.
Did you book your florist yet? I was waiting to find BM's dresses before researching florists? How did you work that out with your florist since you do not know the color of the BM's dresses yet?? TIA!!!

OK so the florist knew what colors you were thinking. Hmm I am not sure, something darker, chocolate, copper, red wine or something so I am not sure if I should see the florist yet??? SO CONFUSED!!!

I think that the BM dresses was one of the hardest things I had to do so far. Everyone in my BP has different skin tones and shapes. I ordered it and have decided Oh, well. I can't please everyone. It's done and so be it.

I just want to find a dress that will flatter all of them without looking too bridesmaidish

Re: I am avoiding....
I know what you mean! All my bm's are different, some have DD's and some have A's! I also didn't want a bridesmaid-y dress w/ beading, etc... So I took them all shopping for dresses and we ended up finding the perfect dress!! It took a few trips to the bridal salon, but we found one that looked great on everyone. Just go w/ a few of your BMs... it was really fun.
ETA: the dress is Lazaro.

Have you looked into Impression Bridesmaid dresses??
I know they come in celadon, and they have one piece dresses and also mix and match separates that are great!! Maybe you can have all the girls wear the same skirt and have them pick their own top?

I had this problem too. I have girls with big boobs, small boobs, plus sized..... they all ended up liking strapless A Line. Usually the A line fit is the best. I thought the big boobed girls wouldn't like the strapless, but they loved them (hated anything V Necked cause it bunched strangely).
I just read in Bride magazine that the most flattering BM dress is strapless Aline (and if any of your BM is anti-strapless, they can add spagetti straps!)

Thats sort of what we did with the Levkoff dresses. The adults chose 2 piece sets (skirts were the same - top was different) and the teens chose 1 piece dresses. Now if they complain, they can only blame themselves. Otherwise they could have passed on being in the BP.

Re: I am avoiding....
I am also avoiding the whole BM dress thing. Everyone is telling me I need to get going on it. I am going to pick a day when I go with my BM's (there are only three) and we all go together and pick something. My girls are very easy, its just I am dam lazy and unmotivated.

Re: I am avoiding....
I thought I had dress picked out as well. Until I saw it in person. It looked so beautiful online, but up close it was very cheap looking and the fabric was horrible.
I found another dress that I love that looks good on MOH (big chest) so it should look ok on BM, and it looks good on me (small chest) so it should look good on the other BM. Picked different dress for MOH which IMHO looks fabulous. I am going back to salon tomorrow to look at fabric swatches (w/out any of the girls).
Try looking online at different designers to get a feel for what you like, and then figure out which salon has a majority of the ones you like, and go there. Eliminates a lot of time wasting. I had no choice but to do it this way b/c my two BM live in different states, and my MOH just had a baby.

Kathleen, keep trying. You'll eventually find something you like that first good for all girls. However, have you considered putting them in different style if their body types are all different? I love celadon btw....

Have you considered letting the girls pick their own dresses in the same color and same designer? It looks beautiful and that way everyone can be happy.

Re: I am avoiding....
Here was one I was (or still am ) considering...this style is GREAT for big busted gals like myself. It's chiffon and it's by Jordan. The nest two pics are of me in a similar dress of a wedding I was in this August. That one was a two piece by Impression. Two piece may be the way to go if the girls are all very different on top.
I was foolish enough to ask 12 (yes 12 ) ladies, so pleasing them is no easy task. I have decided to just go with my two MOHs to pick the dress.
I having them in 2 pc outfits, each picked their own top and they all are in the same skirt. They all love it. I even heard from other people that they have good things to say about the option I gave them.

I enthusiastically second this! Strapless A-line is universally flattering. I know a lot of big boobed women feel uncomfortable in strapless, or predict that they will feel uncomfortable, but a lot of those who say that, haven't tried it. For me (I'm 36DD), strapless is consistently the best!

Re: I am avoiding....
Definately go with a two piece dress with an A-line skirt. I have a wide variety of girls as BM's & the dresses we picked are flattering on everyone. I did a two piece dress from Bill Levkoff....Here they are, 1st one is MOH & the other is BM
I can understand what you are going through! I had a dress all picked otu and then it didn't look nice. We ended up getting our dresses from David's bridal, since they had so many sizes and I could see the dresses on all of the girls. My sister is very large breasted and the dress I ended up picking for the girls doesn't accenuate her breasts.
