I am back and SOOO married! :) With Two New Pics!

I can honestly say that my wedding day was the best day of my life. It far exceeded any dreams or fantasies I have always had about what it would feel like to be married. From the moment I saw my DH at the end of the aisle, it was magical. I have STILL not stopped smiling the day was so amazing and beautiful that I keep going over it and over it! The day went so smoothly, a few crazy moments but I laughed and cried through the whole thing. It was wonderful.

The thing I can tell all the brides is that what made my day possible was the wonderful vendors that I used. All of the trekking around, all the shopping for the perfect people, was worth it in the end. I was able to relax and let the experts handle everything.

Invitations- Simply Elegant…A: We worked w. Gail to find the perfect invitations, and she is the best. Very patient as I took forever to make my vision of my invites come together and not cost a fortune! We used Checkerboard and the invites turned out great. She also did our favors, wrapped them and they were beautiful.

Hair & Makeup- Fairytale Makeovers…A+: Jennifer is such a doll, and I could not have been happier with my hair and makeup. She also kept me totally calm when we blew the fuses in my house blow-drying my MOHs hair, and had to call my landlord over to turn the power back on . Jennifer did my hair and makeup, as well as my moms, sisters and 2 BM and MOH. She brought along another girl (forget her name) and they were amazing. Everyone looked and felt beautiful. I loved my hair, and it did not move all night. My makeup was flawless, stayed on despite rain, tears and kisses. I would highly recommend Jenn, she is the best.

Dress – Bridal Reflections, Carle Place…B+: I got my dress and my BM dresses there. My only small complaint about them is that they did not measure my BMs correctly, and one of their dresses was a whole size too big- we ordered a 10, and the company sent her a 12. The salon did not notice, and had to do major alterations to get her dress to fit. I have to say that all the alterations came out beautifully, I had lost a lot of weight between ordering my dress and the wedding, and they fit it perfectly.

Veil & Tiara – C&H Bridal…A: I don’t know if Kim has found a new location yet, but she is fantastic! Everyone raved about the tiara, and I saved a ton by using her.

Tuxedos – Elite Tuxedo….C: DH had a major problem with the tuxedos, as his tuxedo vest had a huge stain on it that he did not see clearly until the morning of the wedding. And a few of the groomsmen had smaller, but noticeable stains on the vests as well. DH had to switch his vest w. his brother! The redeeming factor is that Elite brought replacement vests to the church, delivered to the groomsmen after the ceremony. However, DH would not recommend using them, as the delivery came after one of the BM yelling at the store over the phone in a not so pleasant way

Limos – All Star….B: We had a Rolls Royce and a 14 passenger limo for the BP. Both cars were to come to my house first, but instead went to DHs hotel first, so were a little late to my house. No big deal, but added stress I could have lived without. The cars were spotless; the drivers were great, really making me laugh as I was all nervous in the vestibule before going down the aisle I would recommend them, just be very clear on the pickup locations and times.

Photography & Video – Glenmar Studio: I cannot rate the pictures yet, as I do not have proofs. We had Tom and Anna as our photojournalist, and loved them both. Tom was such a pleasure to work with; everyone in my BP and both our families loved him. He was a very calming presence, especially when we had some rain when taking the last of our pictures. They were both unobtrusive, and I cannot wait to see the proofs.

DJ – Tom Gordon…A+: What can I say about Tom? Over the planning process, we became like friends, and he is by far my favorite vendor. He is so easy to work with. He was able to keep everyone dancing, and keep the wedding elegant at the same time. Tom is non-cheese, and played great music- our guests raved about him all night. He also went above and beyond for me time and time again. I had him surprise my parents and my in-laws by playing their wedding songs for them. He tracked down my parents (little-known) wedding song for me based only off the title and the first few words in the song. He even burned it onto a CD for them to take home after the wedding. Tom also brings a live singer who sings during dinner, which was a huge hit with our guests. I cannot recommend Tom highly enough.

Florist – Flowers By Brian…A: We had all roses, in high centerpieces with votive candles. The flowers were fresh, and the centerpieces looked amazing. The bouquets were also beautiful; mine was black magic roses and was so full and beautiful. They were a pleasure to work with, I recommend them.

And last but not least…..
Reception – Larkfield Manor…A++++++: I cannot say enough about my AMAZING reception location. Larkfield is like the hidden gem on Long Island From the moment that I walked in to see the hall, they treated me and my family like we were part of their family. We had the catering managers (Frank and John) plus a Matire’d plus a bridal attendant all there to make sure that everything was perfect on our wedding day. All of our guests raved about Larkfield. The cocktail hour was amazing, there was so much food and the display was breathtaking. DH and I actually got to attend the CH, and the bridal attendant made us both two huge plates so we could sample everything. The food at the reception was also amazing. Larkfield gives each guest 6 menu choices, with selections like Filet Mignon, Chilean Sea Bass and Duck al’Orange. And they come around with seconds, so you can sample more than one. I am still getting calls about the food There was never a moment where I was looking for a drink, or food, or anything. It is so beautiful, from the chair covers to the newly renovated outside garden where we took our pictures. I went to see 17 halls before booking with them, and it was all worth it. I cannot recommend Larkfield highly enough.

Phew! Well, that’s it. Ladies, I cannot thank you all enough for all of your help, time, patience, laughter and support. There were so many little touches that we did (wish bowl, sign in plate, menus, table camera scavenger hunt) that our guests loved, and I could not have done them without the help I had on this board. I am forever grateful to you all, and wish each of you the same happiness, laughter and love on your day as I had on mine.

Congratulations! I am sorry about the tuxedos, at least they did get replacement ones (even if you did have to fight for it a little).
