I am changing my mind

I am changing my mind

With 2 months to go till my wedding I am starting to think I might want a veil. Never wanted one before, now I am.
Also I was adamant about not having a train on my dress and having it cut off, now I am starting to think I want one.

What is wrong with me? Why am I changing my mind about these things and if I do get the veil and keep the train, I am afraid I am going to regret it afterwards.

I say go with your gut feeling .. There's nothing wrong with you changing your mind. It's your special day and it should be exactly how you want it!

the veil is easy to 'undo' .... you can always get one and see how it looks and then decide (or just try one on at the bridal store while also wearing yoru dress)

as for the train, i'm sure either way will be great ... don't be afraid of doing what you want and then be stuck with something that you feel is mediocre.

good luck

OMG Celia...I almost had a heart attack. First I read 'I am changing my mind' then I see 'With two months to the wedding'.

As far as the veil goes, get a cheap veil on ebay. They have some nice ones. When the day comes, if you want to- wear it, if not, at least you know it was only a few bucks you spent on it.

I would keep the train and get the veil. If the day of you don't want either you can bustle the train and leave the veil at home.

Better to have it than not have it and regret it the day of

Because really, C...when else can one get away with rocking a veil and a train without looking like a damn fool?

I was adamant about no train...I had a smallish one. Bustle was literally three loops through around one button. Loved it, easy peasy!

I didn't want a veil, bought a birdcage, told the veil to fcuk itself the morning of the wedding and used only a pretty flower clip instead.

It's normal. Maybe get an inexpensive veil and an inexpensive hair clip? You can borrow my clip if you want - it's ivory. Use it as a back-up if the morning of you say 'EFF THIS VEIL' too!

you know what- you guys are all right! i think i will get a veil and if I am not feeling it the morning of I just wont wear it. And Kris like you said- I will keep my sweep train and if I decide I dont want it down when I walk down the aisle I can always bustle it up.

Thats why I love you girls- you are all the voice of reason!

Re: I am changing my mind

OK Celia....you turning into me!! I had my dress custom made without a train. Then I started completely second guessing my dress...but too late now! Plus I really do still love it. About the veil...I didn't want one either. Originally it was because I wanted everything completely different from my first wedding. But the more I thought about it the more I realized that I just didn't feel bridal enough. So I bought one, site unseen online. It matches my dress perfectly and made me feel so bridal. Even made me feel much better about my dress. I say if you want one...go for it. I got mine fairly cheap too. Plus...who says us older brides can't wear veils!!!

This is where I bought my veil...they were great and had super fast shipping!

Yeah Celia...I have to say...that the first few lines of that post had me worried too!!

Why dont you try a birdcage veil? That is what I am doing cause I was borderline on the veil.

I'd order a veil, get a cheap one (I got mine off ebay) and see how you feel with it on... if you love it, wear it.. if you don't.. its only like $10, go all bridezilla lisa on it and tear it apart.

I dont know if a birdcage veil would go with my dress. Maybe tomorrow when I go for my fitting I will try one with it
