I am clueless on planning all of this... Help !

Our date is may 28, 2004. we booked the hall and the church but what's next? we have talked with one dj, photographer and videographer but haven't booked any of them yet, we're still trying to find time to meet with all our recommendations. where should i be with the arrangements? what are the things i need to tackle within the month or next with our wedding one year away? help! i think i should have given myself more time....

Relax... I left myself only 8 months and I am getting it all done. If you plan out what you want, it is easier to find out who can give it to you.

Look for dress ideas (you & BP) - make sure you leave yourself enough time to get the dress you want! That was definately my priority after the hall/church.

The most important thing is to just stay organized and call people - even if you cannot meet with them right away, that way you will know who is available on your wedding day!

If you are dead set to use certain vendors book them first - such as photograhy, video, entertainment.

We booked our band and video back in Dec for our April 04 wedding - and when I was making apts there were some vendors who were already booked.

I spoke to our band recently when FH and I planned on seeing their showcase last month (I had seen them before we booked but b/c FH is out of state he went by their video and my families word on how great they were at the showcase) and apparently they have had multiple (as many as 8-10 requests for our day since - starting about 1-2 weeks after we booked them...lol.

If you are not locked into any one particular vendor you can relax - but don't put it off.

I would do things in this order (or your order of importance):
Photography, Video
band/dj
florist
limos
etc.
