Okay, so we are getting the last of the addresses for the guest list as we are preparing to order our invitations. Keep in mind that his mother has been asked about 4-5 times for a list, each time she didn't respond, but 1 time she said she didn't want to invite anyone (big mistake to believe that one!).
Well...as of right now, we need 131 invites, but I know I want to order extras. I was going to order 140, but asked FH for his opinion. Should we order 140 or 150, just incase.
His answer...'Let's order 160, if we have extra, we have extra' Hello!?!?! This coming fromt he person whos favorite invites were whichever ones were cheapest!!! UGH!!!

Isn't it fun when parents on either side don't want to cough up a guest list? I've gone through that twice already (e-party and now). We should all start making lists of what not to do when our kids get married!

I know!! I have made it crystal clear to FH that his mom has until I place to order to add names. When FH's brother heard us asking her for a list, he said 'Good Luck!' Then told us that for his wedding, she was still giving him names two weeks before the wedding!!
She can give me ALL the names she wants, but if I don't have them BEFORE the invites go to the calligrapher...they ain't getting an invite! Okay, that was harsh, but nothing is going out less than 2-3 weeks before the RSVP date.
Look at me getting all worked up already over something that hasn't happened yet!!

I feel your pain. I sent out STD's yesterday. There a whole bunch of people of FH's side that didn't get one. Why you ask? Because despite giving him a deadline of the Friday before Thanksgiving to cough up his complete guest list, he has still failed to do so.

feeling the pain. i asked for a guest list (a negotiable one at least) LAST spring so that we knew what we were working with.....stupd FILs didn't do one until about 2 weeks ago...and we had to change our date as our reception site couldn't acommodate us on our original date....a mere week after STDs were sent out! and to this day, they still haven't given me their final list so that we can order invites...and they want them out in early march (about a month earlier than i wanted, but ok)!!!!
