I am determined to order my dress today...

I know the dress I want (maggie sottero- aleta) and I have two appointments:

Lillette's at 2
Burton's at 4

I am hoping Lillette's strikes me as the one.. even though it is so far away from me (I'm in Moriches- Lillette's Baldwin!! gas money).

But I've heard so many great things about that salon. I'll update when I get back...
But any last minute notes on these vendors? I've heard great things about L not much at all about Burton's.

Thanks! Oh.. from all of the dress horror stories I've heard, I plan on doing the following:

taking a picture of me in the sample

having the store write the color (both designer color name and the description of the color) on the order/recepit

asking they show me the sizing chart

And probably one other thing... I have to recheck my Bridal Bargains book. It is a great resource, I got it two years ago when my friend was getting married and we won free tickets to see a taping of Rachel Ray's pilot for her now talk show. They gave it away as it was their wedding segment!

My family is going to think I'm crazy.. except for my aunts they will back me up.

Just keep in mind most places dont allow you to take pics or take down the information about the dress. Some places even take the tags off the dress so you dont know who it is you even have on...
I found this to be with alot of places I went dress shopping at. Unless you are actually ordering the dress. then thats a different story lol

I ordered my dress at Lillette's!!!

My friend suggested Pat and she was so wonderful- and patient. I brought an entourage- my parents, my sis (MOH), two aunts (one wanted to buy the dress for me), and I was surprised with my aunt's kids (flower girl and ring bearer) and my grandmother!

I tried on my dress- and it was in 'light gold' (really champagne). It looked gorgeous. My skin is so pale white looks horrible, and the ivory looked good in another sample. but the champagne looked theatrical as Pat put it!

The clincher was my dad preferring the champagne!

I was overwelmed a bit when my mom started putting on all these accessories and then when it was all said and done I was floored.

Between my aunts and my grandma, they bought my dress (including alterations), my cathedral veil, cap sleeves (which I thought I would have to have made, but the all knowing Pat said that maggie makes them available from other gowns!!), and a head piece (not a tiara or comb, a head band per se , gold wire and pearls with antique pearl flowers at each end).

I am soooo thrilled that is all set! I feel so loved and soon to be so pretty.
