I am driving myself crazy!!!!! Help!!!!!!

I am SUCH a perfectionist... I've started the real planning and I am already driving myself CRAZY. I feel sorry for my poor fiance who is the most helpful, loving, caring, supportive person ever . I think I will need a wedding planner to harass just so he can preserve his sanity.

I have nothing actually done (except a lot of planning and thinking!) but I am so picky and I have tons of clear ideas of what I want... this is making everything so difficult. I feel so overwhelmed! Le sigh.

My biggest dilemma is whether or not to have the wedding in the city because I have a lot of out of town guests. i have the mentality of an out of towner because I live in la and i'm not familiar with anything outside of manhattan so i am very concerned with the convenience of my guests - they won't have cars, will need to get from place to place, and will want to tour the city.

i guess the main factors are considering the cost and selecting a venue i love.

what do you think? is it really that expensive to have a wedding in the city? is it a big hassle for guests to travel to a location outside of the city?

are you as looney as i am?

please tell me it gets easier... even for a perfectionist like me!

I'm losing it as well..I change my mind about pretty much everything every other hour and I cant handle ( my brain is too full) all the new choices I see everyday for ideas etc....

Ok, first of all, from one OCD control -freak detail- oriented- obsessive- future -bride- to another...take a deep breath.
1.Think about what is going to make YOU happy, and what is going to work for your guests.
2.Do you have family/friends on the island?
3. Have you looked at places in NYC as well as on LI?
4. Make a list. Think about the details of both places and figure out what is going to make sense for YOU.
5. Planning a wedding anywhere is going to take a lot of work, but you can do it and it will be GREAT.

OCD does come in handy

for example - i am putting a phrase from mediavals time in my program & i asked the ladies on the boards to see if the world 'soulmate'was used during medival times

i would take a serious look at your guest list. the city is crazy expensive both in venue and hotel... if you have enough guests that need to rent cars, then having it in the city would cut that cost out for them but will be made up in the venue and hotel...

cons = expen$$$$$$ive

pros = so much for your guests to do, great venues and food to pick from...

1/2 our guests will be from OOT, but very few will need to rent cars. we live in jersey but chose long island because of the church. we toyed with manhattan but then when we started pricing things...
