i am freaking Out !!!!!!!

i dont know about you girls who are getting married within this year but me and my finace still have a long way to go for paying off the wedding were almost there but not yet we are paying for the wedding ourselves and im stressing so anyone else out there yikes a little nervous and stressed HELPPPPPP::

We paid for it ourselves also and the best thing we did was every month we put aside a certain amount (that we decided on) into a special account we created that was just savings for the wedding and honeymoon. I would just sit down and review everything that still has to get paid and make a budget based on that. Don't worry - it will allll work out!

This is exactly what we did - and it WILL all work out. Just take it one day at a time. And look at the smaller number (what you have left to pay) and try not to focus on the big number (the total). Its better this way.

I have a MONTH to go and still about paying.

What we did from 18 months before was decide how much we could set aside and we put that directly into our wedding savings each month. We also havea budget tracker.

A few things to consider are:

1 Things that have to be paid before the wedding vs after for example, half of the photo and video isn't usually due until you pick up proofs, so that's a few thousand off your plate right there.

2. Things that need to be cash and things that can be put on CC or financed. Some vendors (usually RH) have to be paid in cash no matter what, but if you're willing tp pay in advance a lot of vendors can be paid on a CC, which gives you the ability to pay it off over time. This frees up cash for other payments and tips.

3. On the side of things that cost a lot, there are always little extra expenses you don't anticipate. I don't know if you live togehter, but getting an apartment has been very expensive between moving expenses and fixing up the place and now we min imally need to buy a bedroom set and an air conditioner before the wedding. We're going to ask FMIL to finance it for us though so we can pay it off AFTER the wedding

Anything that can be put on a CC is right now (on FH's card with a super low interest rate), so that we have cash on hand to pay for wedding/etc.

That is our biggest thing...

FH and I were freaking out as well. But, everything is already said and done and theres no going back now. We have to save up a certain amount by September, and if for some reason we are a little short, we are going to ask my Dad to lend us the rest. Once I came to terms with this, I felt much better bc this was STRESSING me the hell out!!

We are paying for the wedding ourselves.

We didn't set aside a budget before even planning the wedding. We knew we wanted around 100 to 110 people. However, now people are popping up left and right.

We now have a set budget and that has helped me.

But, I wanted a photo booth but it's not in the budget, so we need to scratch that.

It will all work out. The only thing we have paid for with cash has been the venue. Besides that, we have paid everything else with CC (it's much easier for me to keep track of the expenses this way).

I'm right there with you on the freakout bandwagon!

FH and I tried our best to give the RH $1,000 each month, more if we could ... We are on track right now if we stick to 120 guests, but we made as many cuts as we could, and we are still at 182 on our guest list!

I am SO glad to see we aren't the only ones doing this:)

We are paying for it ourselves too. What we do is set a goal every month and send a check with whatever amount we get. It involves a lot of sacrifices like not going out on the weekends and picking up extra jobs like babysitting and tutoring here n there but it'll be worth it in the end! Try not to stress too much!


Oh and saving all the change we can find lol.
