Re: I am going to cry - placecards
So you don't want to do mine then huh? JUST KIDDING..
How about maybe trying clear labels? My cousin actually, bought really pretty paper, then printed out the names and table numbers on the paper. She then cut them out with a craft scissor, the kind that makes scallopped edges and glued them on to the placecard. They came out beautiful!! She used the fancy font, and monogram on the top to dress it up.

what program are you using? what are the dimensions of the sheets? top margin: bottom margin: actual cards: any space in between:
i can give you the word document i worked with any maybe you can adjust the tables for your settings? it's a biatch and every printer is different, however maybe i can give you something to start with?

I don't know word, but wordperfect may be the same. Go to 'file' on the toolbar. Go down to 'page set up' and click on 'portrait' or 'landscape' depending on which way the paper goes.
Then click on 'layout' and choose how many columns and rows.

i cant help you but i wanted to say i feel your pain!!!!!!!! i spent HOURS doing our STD's..... they would look perfect on the print preview, etc. then it would print.... and come out all messed up. I was soooooooo aggrevated!!!! just wanted to let you know you are not alone.... i ended up cutting out scraps with the same dimensions and just messing around w/ the alignment, it looked whacky on the print preview... but EVENTUALLY came out perfect!

mine kinda looked like this (bad sketch, but you get the idea), and i set up tables to space out everything accordingly. i could set something up for you to manipulate, but i would need all the dimensions...
