i am having such a bad morning & a question; UPDATE

i am having such a bad morning & a question; UPDATE

i woke up at 5am with a horrible stomach ache. i think its from the antibiotics i am on which the warning label says, 'may cause diarrhea during treatment & for wks-months after' (sorry if TMI). btw the other warning label on the bottle says, 'may interfere with the effectiveness of birth control.' that's lovely don't you think. now i have a splitting headache.

forgetting i was on this horrible medicine, FH & i had s-x last night. i checked one of those ovulation calendars & it said my fertile days would start tomorrow. do you think i should go get a morning after pill to be on the safe side??

UPDATE:

so i spoke to the pharmacist & she said if the bottle says it interferes with birth control that means it interferes with birth control. she added that since i have been on BC so long (4.5 years) i should be fine. to be safe i could take the Plan B. so i yelled at her & said, '7 months before my wedding, should be fine is really not what i want to hear.'

so i just took pill 1 & will be waking up at 1AM to take pill 2. btw it costs $45 if anyone wants to know for future.

fingers crossed everything works out well. i also made an appointment to see my doctor on Saturday.

I don't know if you're on BC already if you can take Plan B... ask the pharmacist before you buy it... cause it's similar to what's in BC.

Also ask the pharmacist how likely it is... some of them just put the label on and the percentage of liklihood is BARELY, but for legal reasons because of the tests done during FDA approval process, they have to put the label on there.

Speak to someone before you do anything.

ETA< yeah, if the gyno is available, I'd call them, like some of the opther girsl said. If not, the pharmacist is a good second source.

I agree. I hear the morning after pill could have some bad side effects and that too might interferre with the antibiotics. See what your gyno suggests. If you can't get a hold of her call the pharmacist.

I'd call my OBGYN to see if they think its necessary; when you're on BCP your body builds up tolerance and resistance and this medicine may not have had any effect yet.

I just wouldn't take it unless the DR said I needed to in this case.

I don't know if there would be a point, because the morning after pill is pretty much the same thing as birth control but in a higher dose, so that would be potentially less effective too. And I agree I don't know that you can take that and birth control, it will be like taking a bunch of birth control pills at once, that can mess with your stomach really bad.

ITA one of my BM took it and was really sick for 3days...she was out of work the whole time...she said she would never use it again

antibiotics cancel out BC (don't you watch family guy?)
I'd check with your dr, it might cancel out plan b too. Just call and say you have a question for the dr. Ask the dr. if they say it doesn't cancel it out.. then get it, if they say it does... well then you might want to see the dr.
Don't stress out, just stay calm and think of it this way.. whatever happens was supposed to happen.
