I am doing all wedding planning on my own, from Syracuse, while working 13 hour days five-six days a week. In short, I am SO BEHIND in the planning. Additionally, as I have never done this before, I don't know where to begin or what to do next. So I need your help! Please tell me what I should do next and what needs to be done ASAP.
Here is what is done--My wedding is on October 12th at Oheka. I have booked the church(although possibly not the priest), band (including cocktail musicians) and the photographer. I have interviewed three florists--but haven't decided yet. I have been looking for a dress for a few weeks but haven't found one I love yet....same situation with the BM dresses.

makeup & hair - very very important! the better ones tend to book quickly.
have you gotten the dresses? you need time for those!

YOu should print out a wedding countdown checklist and start researching .
Everything will be fine, just try to stay calm and everything will fall into place

I would say dresses are the next important thing, becaseu those take time to come in.
What about a videographer?

Wacky's suggestion is good - print out a time line of wedding tasks.
dresses are a priority. some take several months to come in.
and of course getting the preist settled.
other vendors to consider - video, limos decide on a florist
planning the honeymoon
wedding rings
other things to think about but can wait favors invitations - do you have your guest list finalized?
Don't worry it will all come together

Everything they said! But don't worry. I actually did the whole thing, from DC, working 15-16 hour days, in 4 1/2 months. So it can be done. My advice would be to just DO IT. Make decisions, get it out of the way and move on. If you agonize, you will waste time.
That said, you are doing just fine. you have tons of the big stuff done. just relax, the rest will come together. I would definitely do dresses next. Yours is an easy one. You can definitely do that where you are, and then once you think you found some choices you like, pull in other important people.
BM dresses, I found is a lot easier when you can drag one or more with you to try on. i never ever would have chosen the BM dresses I did without my sister trying one on (which i hated on the hanger) and I came to realize that it looked awesome on!!!! Once you find a BM dress that you like, one word, netbride.com!!!!!!!!!! t hey are awesome and your BMs will love you!! but they need about 8-12 weeks at least!!!

It sounds like you are on track with everything.
Like the other posters said your Priest and Dress are the next big things you need to concentrate on. Then the BM dresses. If you really get into a crunch with BM dresses there is always the option to let them choose their own seperates from a mfg. you select.
Get the florist out of the way
Start thinking about invitations, favors, & programs
Are you planning your RD or is someone else taking care of it.
You will be fine. Just make decisions and go with it.

Suggestion - take some time out each day if not once a week- and dedicate to your wedding- the internet is worth its weight in gold- the the ceremony, reception, dress and photo video are the most important and the rest will fall into place- you dont want to skimp on your Photos-Good Luck

I think if you are having OOT guest it is very important to get a block of room reserved and get the word out as early as possible. I have a ton of out of town guests and was running into some problems with this (all settled now though)!

Just to make you feel better - I'm getting married Oct 10 and you have more done than I do - and I live here!! Don't worry, it will all come together (at least that's what I'm banking on!!). Good luck.

Hmmm my suggestions,.
DRESS DRESS DRESS Shop every day off all day until you find one. You have 6 months to find one, order it, and alter it. I don't want to scare you, but you need to find your dress ASAP. Once you find yours, move on to the BMs. Do you know what look you want for them? What colors? If so, start looking online while you're at work, and see if anything moves you. For your own dress, you can look online if you have an idea of what you want, but the best bet would be to go to every shop and start trying on.
Videographer - if you want one, start looking now. I suggest Wild Rose Vide- you can see if they are still available.
Invitations - you still have time
Florist - now that you looked at a couople, you can wait a little longer.

Annie, I was just checking my mailbox, and the FM I sent you never went through! Since I lived in Syracuse for a few years, I know it basically impossible to find a dress in that city. My suggestion would be to search online for a designer you think you might like and also try to find dresses in the 'wealthier' parts of upstate. Like where the mayor lives, **** I can't remember what the name of it was... Cazenovia? no, that's not it, but have you looked there? Well, anyway try the lake towns. Remember what we were talking about before with the nice dress shops? Before you try places upstate, call and see what designer dresses they have.

Get moving on those Flowers. Florists book up really fast especially if they're popular. I've learned that they can only do so many in 1 day or 1 weekend. Good Luck. Oheka is gorgeous!
