I am in DIY Hell

So I thought I'd be all thrifty and print my own outer envelopes on the computer. I downloaded a pretty font and was feeling pretty good about myself until I started my 'trial runs' on Word. I can't adjust the envelope size to get the spacing right! My envelopes are 7.5x7.5', and I want the addresses to be approx. 3' down from the top and 3.5' from the left. I used the 'customize' feature on Word but I just can't get it (not even close, its not even printing most of the address on the page) what am i doing wrong here?!

Re: I am in DIY Hell

You have to play with the margins.

If you are using Tools > Letters & Mailings > Envelopes & Mailings, and you have set up your envelope size, then you should have your name and address info in the 'body' of the 'envelope' on the screen. if you click the name/address area, it will show you sort of a box around the name/address... If you roll your mouse over that box you will get cross hairs ( + ) sort of like a plus sign, then double click on that box/line of the box and it will launch a window... This window contains the placement of the text. (margins if you will)... Also, if you Single click on the box/line the box and it's contents will be selected (the address) and then you can Drag the edges of the box around until you get it where you want it. Use print preview to see it and get the idea if you are close.

This isn't hard, really! I printed EVERYTHING - envelopes, inner, outer, placecards, programs, you name it.

Good luck. Hope it helps.

Re: I am in DIY Hell

I sent you FM with the website that explains how to do this. You have to forego the envelopes and labels tool bar and act like your setting up a word doc. Here's the link for anyone that's interested
