Re: I am in love with...
Years ago when I worked in NYC, I always went to this joint on 6th Ave. It was awesome. You were in and out quickly and it wasn't as painful.

Re: I am in love with...
I used to swear by it but I had a too eager thread once & my love affair faded for it. I am not back to traditional shaping trying to get that perfect arch for the wedding..lol
It is great to shape brows though with a skilled person!

What is the difference between threading and waxing? Does one last longer? I just got my eyebrows waxed today but I know they do threading too at my nail place. It def seems to take longer but I wonder if it hurts less or something!

I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for years now and totally prefer it over waxing. I think threading hurts a lot more than waxing. Cause with waxing, it's just like ripping off a band aid really quick. But with threading, you're having the hairs plucked out one by one repeatedly, so you feel it more. I don't think one way really lasts longer than the others. Because whether you wax or thread, you're still pulling the hair out from its root, so it should be the same time frame in terms of growing back.
I prefer the threading because I feel like they're able to get a better shape with the brows. When waxing, it seems like they slather that wax on, place the strip on, and then just yank it off. And then usually they use the tweezers to get those stray hairs. But after waxing, it's always so sticky, which I hate, and my brow area was always super red and throbbing for a bit afterwards.
With the threading, I feel like they get a much nicer shape because they can see what they're doing as they thread (you don't have the wax strip covering it). I feel like it's more of an art. Sure my brow area is still a little red afterwards, but not as much as waxing.
So even though threading is more painful, I just like it a lot more. Plus it's usually cheaper.
I recommend Rani's for threading. They're a chain with places throughout Queens and Nassau.

Is there a place in Suffolk you can recommend? I live in Bay Shore.
