Okay, I had a great wedding except for my jazz trio, National Boulevard, bailed out on me after the ceremony. here is the review that I posted on this board and on this site. I gave them an F:
National Boulevard Jazz Trio - F!!!!!!! From all accounts they showed up on time, and the hall (or someone in my family, I don't know) gave them bad directions as to where to set up, so they had to set up twice. They seemed to be confused, bringing up things that I had discussed and dismissed with them 6 months ago. Also I hear that the hall was rude to them about a number of things, including finding an outlet for their amps. They played the ceremony beautifully as well, if low. But, because of the problems they had WITH MY HALL, they BAILED FOR MY COCKTAIL HOUR!!!!!! Yes, you heard correctly - they declared the ceremony a gift to me and Arie, and JUST LEFT. My wedding coordinator showed them their contract with stated that they were to play 2 hours, but Karla (the leader) was so 'offended' by my hall she couldn't stay!

Obviously they didn't ask my permission! I have contacted them to remove my quote ASAP. Can you believe that?!

I would call Natl Blvd AND RAISE HELL. BBB is secondary.

I would ask the BBB to make them take that quote off their site. It is misleading and does not represent your true thoughts about them. As for money, i would be suing them to get it ALL back.

You should also contact the Nassau County Department of Consumer Affairs and file a complaint with them-- they'll put it on their record, so that when people call them, there's an indication that something's not right with that group.

At the least -- isn't it false advertising?
I know there's a law about quotes taken out of context. Wasn't there a big noise with the papers and the Movies/Broadway show reviews taken out of context so as to look positive recently?? I remember it!
Sorry I can't quote the law - but I would call the BBB and ask them about it anyway.

Think about this-- stars sue all the time for companies claiming that those stars endurse them. I know you are not a celebrity but you have the same rights!!!

I cannot believe they did that! I want to thank you for that honest review awhile back since I was thinking of using them as well. Needless to say I am not using them thanks to you. Hope it all works out.

That is so ballsy. I would definitely harrass them to take that down. They never used your permission and copied off a website while you were complaining about their services. I'm sure every bride here knows not to use them now. I would make sure you post on the 05 board and keep bumping. That is one way they will lose business if they advertise on this site. Maybe I'll call them and try to hire their services - then cancel on them and tell them I read what they did to you so they lost my business!!!!!
