I am not sure, but I am having the urge to start trying.

First, I think that I need to start now for two reasons. I am 31 and I honestly think that I will have difficulty conceiving. My question is how do I discuss this with my DH. He is ( as I was) pretty set about waiting 2 yrs. I would be fine with that except I honestly think that time is an issue. Is there a test I can take to find out? I am so uneducated about this issue.

I think it's wonderful you want to start trying!!!

Talk to your husbnad, he may be feeling the same as you, but is too afraid to say it!
good luck

Go see your doctor and tell him you are thinking of TTC. There are some blood tests they can run to see how certain hormone levels are and that will give them a good idea if you would have any trouble. They will also probably give you a check up to make sure everything is in order. I am five years older than you, and luckily did not have any trouble conceiving, so don't assume you will have a problem because of your age. My doctor did these tests and told me I'd have no problem, and he was right!

As for your DH, just sit him down and discuss it with him. Honestly, I would have loved to have waited at least a year but didn't really think it was a good idea due to my age. The two of you will make the best decision for you, whatever it might be.

I had the same feelings as you, I thought I would have problems TTC. I don't why I thought this but I did. DH was 33 and still didn't feel he was old enough to start TTC and wanted to wait. But after a few months of talking we decided to start trying in June 2004. Well, I got pregnant in July. I was in shock. JMO - I don't know if anyone is ever 100% positive they want to start, it is such a life changing experience. I think that is why you get 9 months to get used to the idea I am still nervous about being a mom, but so excited at the same time. You and DH will work out a schedule that works for both of you.
