I am officially................

unemployed. My company has been doing a lot of restructuring and a lot of positions were done away with. Looks like I will be around more.

Thank you! My job had relocated about 2 years ago and it was not worth the commute so its not a bad thing.I will look for something closer to home.
I will just miss my friends at work.I told them that we will still meet up and go out for dinner once in a while.

It was in Lake Success (the borderline of Nassau and Queens) and I live in Suffolk.

I worked with a communications company with different hospitals all day.

Oh ok...Just wanted to see, because my sister is a supervisor at the Weight Watchers corporate office and she is always telling me they are hiring. You work in hospitals so its totally different.

I am sorry, I've been in that situation. I was layed off from American Express in Oct 2001. I was so angry because with everything of 9/11 our corporate office was moved to Wall Street and the Wall St people were moved to Parsippany NJ. Pissed me off that I had to commute to NJ only to be displaced 3 weeks later. (Amex has a displacement period which means your position has been eliminated but you work for a period of 60 days so you're still working and looking for a job at the same time)

Enjoy the time being out though even though its a horrible period. Hopefully you'll get a nice severance package that you can use to do fun things, maybe a weekend getaway or something. The warm weather is coming soon so you can do some outdoor activities.

Just wanted to say I know how it is. I got laid of at the end of Jan, due to budget cuts. I was elated not to be there cause the job itself was boring, but I miss the daily interaction with my friends, especially since they are the only people I know down her. But I was determined to find something I would love not just bring home a paycheck. I found work with a great company and I'm so looking foward to the opportunity. I think that being laid off was one of the best things that could have happened to me. You''ll find something great too!!
