I am pretty upset - did anyone else have this done to them?
When you first started planning and going to CH everyone has an opinion right? Last night I told an aunt that I am pretty close to that I was going to see places for the reception. She breaks down my list and says one place is nice and says the rest are terrible and disgusting. I mean really? She is a decorator for events and I guess has seen a lot of places. If you saw my previous post you know the 4 places...I have not heard ANYTHING disgusting about any of the places. And now I feel like if I like one of the 'disgusting' ones that I will always have that in the back of my head! One of the places I don't even understand how it could be bad because of all of the wonderful things I hear so I am just going to go look at them all anyway.
It was just a big burst to my bubble you know. I mean I knoooow she was trying to be helpful but another way to say it would have sufficed I think. Just venting and I actually feel a bit better letting it out. Thanks girls!

Don't worry about what your aunt said! Go check out the places and find one that you and your FH love....not one that you, FH and your aunt!!! Remember it's your day! Have so much fun today looking at places and try to put your aunts comments behind you.

Everyone is going to want to add their two cents in. Go look at all of them and make your own judgement about the places. If you fall in love with something she didn't like and the comment still bothers you, maybe you should ask her what she didn't like. You guys may have different views and you will realize that what bothers her doesn't bother you or the place may be updated so you never know.

I had my aunt comment on the places I was picking out as well. She was aganist Long Island and because she is from Bk she would only suggest Bk places! She would email and send me links on FB all the time until I finally had to tell her something. Even after we picked out VYC and I told her we were going for a food tasting to make our final decision, she told me I hope the food sucks! At the end of the day, your wedding is about you and your fiancee so make the decision that best suits the two of you!

Don't let her upset you. Go visit the venues and make the decision for yourselves. Everyone is going to put their two cents but in the end it's your wedding. I learned to tune them out. Good luck with your search.

As they say, opinions are like a**holes.....lol.....don't tell people too much bc they will undoubtedly have an opinion. You and FH do what YOU want, and then tell everyone your final decisions.

Some people just need to say something about everything. As the other girls have said, go with whichever RH makes you and your FH happy.. don't worry about your aunt, it isn't her wedding!

Awwwwwwww! Don't let her upset you. Go with your gut! It's IMPOSSIBLE to please everyone. To be honest, I find it 'terrible and disgusting' when people insult someones choices like that. It's your day, not her's. I've had some snarky things said like 'Ohh...well thats different ..... ' when I've been looking at bridesmaid dresses and flowers... umm i'm not stupid i know what that means lol!!! I just brush it off. Good luck honey I'm sure youll pick a 'beautiful and tasteful' place!!!!

One of my family members recently got married at this beautiful catering hall. Up until the day of the wedding one of my uncles kept bashing it 'the food is horrible' 'it is so far'...it had to be one of the nicest weddings the family has been to. He felt so stupid after the wedding.

I'm so sorry its very upsetting when people put ther 2 cents in when they Shouldn't say something Don't worry what she said because its something you and FH have to decide on. people don't understand if u dnt have something nice to say then don't say it. Find the place that you feel in your heart with FH. It will all come together.

Ok so I feel very happy that we went and the funniest thing is that the one place she told me was the most amazing I completely didn't like...just not my taste or style. LOL The one place she said was disgusting I absolutely adore. LOL It really is true that everyone has such a different opinion but sometimes they should use their inside voice! :) Thanks everyone!

UGH!!!! People need to learn to keep quiet. As the other posts have said, it is your day, pick the RH that makes you and your FH the happiest. It is her choice to enjoy herself....we know you'll have the best time, wherever you pick. Good luck!!

Definitely go with your gut on this one, you will never make everyone happy but if you and your fiance are happy that is the most important thing!
