I am really stressed and starting to make myself sick...

over this wedding.

our guest list has skyrocketed to 285 people. fh and i our paying for the reception ourselves and our parents (3 sets) have given us money towards everything else. we are so grateful for that, but, we are not going to be able to pay for the reception in total like we had planned with the guest list this high. we were hoping to make the minimum of 175 people. that would have been affordable for us. but now we are looking at 230 people if 20% decline, which adds an extra $5-6000 to the reception, adds 3 more centerpieces at $125 a pop. OMG it never ends!!!!!!!!!

we still have to feed vendors, tip vendors, maitre'd, bridal assistent, limo driver at night and in the morning to the airport. i dont see how we are going to be able to swing this.

i had to leave work sick on friday and i think it was because of all of this stress.

sorry this is so long. i just needed to get this out.

I know what you mean... our guest list somehow keeps on growing... I had a hige argument with my father over it last night... I left my house in tears... it can be so stressful... but just take a step back and try to relax... this is your wedding you are planning...it's going to be a wonderful day... and so exciting!!!

first of all - relax, take a deep breathe and relax.

second - you need to cut back the guest list. that's all there is to it. it's not fair to put that much stress on yourself, and if you can't pay for that many people, you can't invite that many people!

the guest list is the worst part of wedding planning...ask anyone!

my FH is paying for our wedding and the guest list issues are driving us crazy! i hate it. everyone is getting annoyed with us - UGH

how much easier would it have been to elope??!!!!!

I know what you mean,
we went from worrying about making minimum to possibly being close to maximum.... Perhaps you can ask parents for a loaner right before the wedding, then when you open wedding gifts you can pay them back some money.....
it may seem like a crazy amount of people now, but it will feel great surrounded by so many people there just for you two.

I agree with you guys, the guest list is no big deal. Me and FH wanted tops 150. Yeah ok. We already have 220. We are paying for the wedding ourselves also so I know what you mean. Thats another few thousand plus more flowers. Bottom line with you is, I agree with palebride-cut the list. Do not go completely broke over this. If they are people that you are not that close with, then cut it down. I can understand if they were close cousins or friends, but when the list gets that high then its friends of the family usually and coworkers. I am only inviting like 2 people from work. If I didnt I would haev another 20-30 people-no way.
