We had my friend's bridal shower at Sergio's in Massapequa. The food was delicious and the people that worked there were great.
Soda was included in the price.

Check some of the larger pizza places with a back room. Depending on what you want- if you want the entire place to yourself it can get out of hand. If you just want a huge table or group of tables, try the sonoma grill in holbrook. Also, some chinese buffet places can rope off a bunch of tables for you.

Also Olive Garden has a great party package starting at 12.95, and includes, sald, breadsticks, entree, ice cream, coffee tea, soda.

Dave and Buster's - don't know the price, but a friend had hers there too.

Also what about having it catered by a deli, and having it in someone's backyard or house.

I agree, you can have the food catered and have it at someone's home. I plan on doing that.

I agree with RD being $$$ It almost becomes the price of a mini wedding... We are thinking of possible doing a pizza party with bowling after the church rehersal. Just getting a few pies, soda, and beer. We will also treat everyone to two games of bowling. Just want to be causal and have fun... We have the wedding to be formal and all dressed up!

Hi, We were having a relatively formal daytime wedding at Harrison House. So we opted for a less formal rehearsal dinner. Plus we had a lot of people coming from out of town so we didn't want them to have to get all dressed up right when they got there.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Marra's in Glen Cove. They have a little rustic room upstairs, or outdoor seating. We had ours from 3-5pm so people could eat right when they came into town.
We had our food served family style w/3 entrees, 2 types of salad, bread and dipping sauce, unlimited soda/ice tea/coffee etc. (no liquor/beer), and a cake. It all came to $12.95 a head and everyone had a good time.

We had ours at Annabellas in Farmingdale. It was 18.95 for soup, salad, choice of two pastas and 4 entrees, cake and coffee. It was an addtional 6.00 for unlimited beer wine and soda.

We will probably have a chinese buffet or something at home, asking some of the non out of towners help out by making a dish. With almost 40 people we just cant afford more than that!

I just looked into Charlie Brown's Steakhouse but in Yonkers, Ny. I think they all have the same prices for catering, but they had sit down packages for 15.99-19.99.

I 'bullied' DH's aunt and uncle into hosting it...She was a chef for a long time and is just a fabulous cook...and it was great...we did it in their backyard...and had so much fun...and didn't have to worry about timing...

Re: I am scared of the price of the Rehersal Dinner

At this point, I'm not planning on having the rehearsal dinner anywhere fancy. (God knows we're spending enough money as it is.) In fact, I think my Mom (who's a great cook) wants to just have it at her house and we can have a nice, home cooked meal. (FH's parents are hosting the engagement party, so she wants to host the rehearsal dinner.)

Now I'm beginning to wonder - would having it there be totally strange?
