I am SERIOUSLY going to start pulling my hair out!!!!!!!!!!!

So, FH and I did the seating arrangement last night, and it was surprisingly easy! So now, I decide to print out the placecards....WRONG! I opted to buy the ones from Staples (also seen at Michaels, Party City, etc) printing them would look nicer and be quicker than hand writting them, or so I thought.

So I open the package, go to the website to get the template. Start entering info, and print it on regular paper, to see the size. Look good. I decide to do a trial one just 1 page (as the template has 6 pages, didn't want to waste any placeards). WRONG! The gosh darn page keeps JAMMING IN MY PRINTER!!!!!!!!

I feel like that Cingular commerical, the 'DROPPED THE CALL' one. I can't get this friggin thing to work! I am damn near ready to PAY someone to do these!!!! I have nice handwritting and get many complients, but have NO patience. I am SUPER neurotic and OVERLY OCD!

Has ANYONE used these w/ success????? Any hints???

Has anyone paid to have placecards done??? How much are they and how QUICK can I get them done??? My final appt with the hall is 1 week from tonight!!!!

TIA!!

If your printer is acting up, could you use one at work and do it there?

Sometime humidity can play a problem with printers and paper. You could try turning the printer off and rebooting it and see how it acts!

If I was there Jill, I'd be more than willing to help you figure this all out!!!

A few suggestions:

-See if you can open the printer door and blow out any excess dust/debris
-'fan' the papers before you put them in the paper tray to seperate them
-if there is a single-sheet feeder option, try that instead
-see if an office supply store by you has a roller cleaner that you feed through the printer like you would a piece of paper. It's sticky on one side so it lifts lint and such off the rollers as it runs through.

I'm afraid if none of that works, the printer may not be able to handle the thickness. If you know for a fact it is lined up right, why not try a Kinko's type of place for another printer? Or try one at work?

did you go to properties and change the setting of paper to cardstock or photo paper so that your pirnter knows it is thicker?

Not that this helps, but Conigs and I found those templates to be a complete nightmare, so we're doing ours from scratch.

Hey, Jill!

I just did our placecards last weekend and I used the same placecards from Staples. I didn't have any problems with paper jamming. But what I did was I took out all the paper in the printer and then just put in one sheet at a time and printed page 1, then put in another sheet and printed page 2, etc. Try that and see if it works.
