I am so confused!!!!!!!!!!

I am so confused!!!!!!!!!!

I have been working at my job for 3 months and absolutley HATE IT!!!! It is so stressful and they are always yelling. It is so bad I sometimes wish that the building would collapse or stuff like that.

Well, my DH keps telling me to find another job but it is so hard because I am PG. Well, I called my old office and they have a PT position available (30 hrs) in their office closer to where I live.

The down side is that for 2 or 3 months it is a big pay cut and we have huge bills. But the good thing is that I can move to FT soon and I am PG and they know and totally will work with me on my schedule and if I'm not feeling well etc.

My dilema the pay cut. We can do it but it will be very very tight. Should we struggle for a couple of months or should I just put up the abuse at my current job until the baby is born which is awhile because I am only 9 weeks? I am so confused. Plus, I am very worried about the stress this job is putting on the baby.

Thanks for letting me vent

I would definitely go for the lower stress job, with things as bad as you have explained. Stress is bad for the body and being PG it is even worse. Struggling money wise will be stressful but you may find new ways to budget your money that will be usful savings wise once you get back to making more $$. Good Luck.

I think your overall well being is worth more than money especially in your situation.
Go back to your other job and relax. You will find a way to make things work out.
Good luck.

Think about the baby right now.

I would go for the part-time job. Apart from it being less stressful, you can even stay parttime if you want to after the baby is born.

Re-evaluate your household budget and see where you can make some cuts for the time being.

I don't think I could stay long in a job that made me so miserable that I kept wishing the building would collapse.

You are lucky to have found this other opportunity because not many employers would hire a pg woman!

I feel your pain!

I am currently electing the low job stress route but the $$$ is killing me (which is another form of stress).

What are the hours at your miserable job? If they are manageable and the people are the problem, depending on the severity I would perhaps elect to stick it out. Only you can decide what you can/can't deal with.

What are your long term goals? Would you plan to take a FT position at the old place after the little one is born? Will they give you FMLA?

I have no idea what I will do post maternity leave, but I would like to think I would keep things as stress free as possible. Once I get into a routine I will need to find a way to supplement my income. I am also not going to make any drastic decisions until Dec/Jan as I will feel more comfortable being further along.

Thank you all so much for your input I took the PT job I checked out our bills and we can do it but boy it will be tight but just for 2 months until the FT position becomes avail. I am so excited. I worked for them for 5 years before leaving. And the only reason I left is because we moved pretty far away.

I can't wait

Way out the stress level of staying at your present job and worrying about finances. For me, I would choose the money stress over the constant yelling you're describing.

I know the money thing will be stressful but I always stress out about money so that is nothing new to me:) The hours at my current job are TWTH from 7:45 am to anywher between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm. It is way to much especially when I get further along. If I have to I can work somewhere else a couple of hours a week like at CVS or something We'll see

Enough said...I am currently 9-5 ing it and can't imagine doing more later on. I've done the whole 24-7 routine and would definietly not be able to handle that now. I have learned to now not give a **** about people as long as the hours are sane, but those hours you mention - forget it!

Or you could work part time at babies r us, or a maternity store, so that way you get a discount on things you'll need to buy anyways. Glad you took the part time job. It's better that you are not stressed, especially for the baby's health. When are you due?

nevermind, just read you're 9 weeks along. Congrats!
