I am so grossed out I can't eat.

Whoever works in midtown I KNOW you can relate. Let me share my lunch experiences with you two days this week. This is not for the weak stomach.....

MONDAY:
A new Chinese restaurant called Gingers opened on 7th Ave and 37th Street. A few co-workers and i gave it a try... I ordered chicken teriyaki. When i opened it back at the office, there was NO WAY this was a bird. The meat was blue, yes blue, with a teriyaki sauce on it. It was so disgusting, I threw it out immediately. My co-worker ordered shrimp... they had a really funky consistency and were definitely not fresh. DO NOT EVER EAT HERE.

WEDNESDAY:
I go to Cosi also on 7th Ave... while I am ordering my sandwich, a homeless person walks right in BEHIND the counter to the sandwich bar and is drooling over the ingredients they use to make the sandwiches!!! Thank god the drool never reached the actual meats or toppings, but not one of the 'Cosi Sandwich Artists' did a damn thing! The guy is standing there behind the counter hovering over the ingredients. I walked right out. Again, I was so horrified and grossed out, I cannot eat today!!!

I'm gonna start bringing my lunch, at least i know where its coming from!!!!! ughhhh blechhhh

I could not have eaten my lunch if I read this post before I went out. And I had shrimp teriyaki today too...

Thankfully I work downtown!

One of the many reasons I now eat Lean Cuisine's for lunch.
I've had WAY to many bad lunches

Ewww, I went to that Cosi today! I don’t even want to think about it…

And I agree it’s hard to find decent food in Midtown…

That is soooooooooo disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I love Cosi sandwiches... .

I will never be able to eat it again!!!!!!!!

And, blue chicken...OMG...what in the world could it have been???

Well.. Lori.. thank God I took a break to eat before hitting the boards again.. LOL

I remember seeing a guy drop something on the floor of the subway. It was a muffin.. So it may have not touched the floor.. but he just broke off a piece and started eating it.

3 - 5 second rule or not.. I was grossed out. I cracked up though as did a few other people. Eating off the subway.. and from Subway.. LOL.. does not really appeal to me!

I'm really sorry to gross you guys out, but it all really happened!! Be careful where you eat in this dirty city! ewwww

My neighborhood (Garment District) is especially bad.

I'm really hungry now, but I still can't eat Where are my girl scout cookies?? At least those are in a sealed box!!

ok, SO SHE EATS AND HER LIPS BLOW UP BIG, SHE THOUGHT SHE HAD AN allergic reaction of some sort, so she went to the ER and they told her she had a sort of herpes and when they went to the chinese restaurant (in brooklyn) they found cats downstairs in a cage and one being COOKED

She got sick froma sick cat she ate!
AHHHH
Thats why i NEVER eat chicken from the chinese!

Needless to say she sued, the health dept closed them down etc etc.

I've always believed this to be true fact. Even though you think its a joke, I always swore it WAS NOT chicken in those Chinese 'chicken' dishes!!



No meat or seafood when I get chinese.. I stick to tofu & veggies , or noodles and rice.. how bad can they screw that up??

I just have to say, in defense of my best friend who is Chinese-American, and whose parents own two chinese restaurants (NOT take-out places)...

that this is a VERY unfair generalization!!!

Yes, in China, some people eat cats. Some places in Korea all eat dogs. We in America eat cows, where in India they are sacred. It's just they way it is....

Jennbaby, I'm not at all saying that your story is untrue... I don't want anyone to think that. I just don't want people to think that ALL chinese food places would be as gross as that one. I think maybe 1 out of 1 million restaurants would have anything remotely as disturbing as cats on the menu.
