My wedding is in 5 days and my bridesmaid sends me an email that I shouldn't freak out but she dyed her hair red yesterday!!
I am so ****ed! I just think its so selfish. Or am I flipping out for no reason? I mean this may be temporary but meanwhile my pictures are forever.
Edited to say she has medium skin coloring like me. (Latin).

Why on earth would someone decide to do that??? Have you seen it? Maybe it doesn't look that bad? If she is your friend, I don't think she would do anything to ruin your pics... (but then again, I dont know her). How are the girls wearing their hair? Maybe you should ask them to have it all up. That might take away from the RED.
I'm sorry you have to go through this stress. I'd be a little annoyed too... But you know what? You're the bride! You're pics will look great no matter what!

I think having her dye it back is asking too much. Your pictures should represent who your friends are at the time -- and this is who she is. Wedding photos are very uninteresting if your friends are made up like the gals in the Addicted to Love video.

I think that is so rude and if she is willing to dye it back, I would take her up on that offer. One of my bridesmaids decided to dye her hair BLUE the day of my engagement party. I don't know your friend, but in my case, she was just dying (no pun intended!) for attention!

OH, dear.... I know how you feel ... my SIL chopped off her hair last week & it looks very boyish. She refuses to have it done (fancy ... she's a wash & go girl) at all. What am I going to do?
Everyone will be looking at you, love! try not to sweat it! (BTW, I think its pretty selfish on her part, though)

I honestly don't think it is fair of you to call her selfish for dying her hair. It is after all, her hair. Would you have not asked her to be a bridesmaid if she always had red hair? You can plan your life and your appearance around your wedding but it is not fair to expect anyone else to do the same. Love and accept your friends no matter how they chose to express themselves. Her hair is a reflection of her, not of you. Maybe this is just wedding stress, don't be upset over it. Good luck.

You poor thing!! I agree that you shouldn't stress, especially since you haven't seen it yet, but most importantly because you don't want to let anyone take away from your special day! (I know, easier said than done!) but maybe a good idea would be to set in your mind two paths and then make a decision once you see her. (1) if it isn't that bad (close to a natural look) then NO Worries, just let it go. (2) if you see her and she looks like a fire truck and no one will be able to keep their eyes off her, have the rest of your bridesmaids hold her down while you pour that temporary black dye on her head! Just teasing, but seriously, if it is really crazy, she could easily buy that stuff at Genovese that is only 24 hour dye (like a brown or black) and at least mute the color to make it look natural. I agree that it is her hair, but atemporary rinse is not too much to ask. afterall she is YOUR bridesmaid, and she agreed to do so to be there for you, not herself!!
Either way, i say make the decision not to let it bother you. and don't stress. Congratulations, you are almost there!!

If you are talking fire engine red, I'd rip her skin off! All my BM's are really good friends and I already warned them not to do anything silly like that or they will be out, out, out of my wedding party!
If she just dyed it red, like Clairol red, don't worry about it. Is she married? Tell her for her wedding you are coming with blue hair. And tell your BM that I told you to rip her skin off. LOL
