I am so nervous

I have a job interview tomorrow for a 5th grade positiion in the school i AM subbing in now. I know the people well but there will be 6 people interviewing plus some paretns. Talk about pressure. I stink at interviewing...Any suggestions...from other teahcers

I am not a teacher...but try to be yourself and dont let the nerves take over.

Ive always done well on interviews when I appear confident =)

Not a teacher- but I interview a lot of potential employees for my department--- the most important thing to remember is that they want to hire you! So when you go in you have the advantage- good luck & keep us posted..

Also you may want to have someone role play an interview with you to help you- practice the classic questions- tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, etc.

smile and be natural as much as you can! And wear something that you feel good in....

yeah its a ridicolus thing. For some reason the parents want to be involoved and this district allows it. There were problems in the past

as a parent who has sat in on these interviews...remeber that you have to wow both the parents and the admins....Make it obvious you care and are dedicated....thats what the parents want...and make sure the admin knows how qualified and serious you are. smile alot !

I always look up common questions that they ask teachers and go over them the night before. (Ex: What is your teaching philosophy, how would you handle a discipline problem, how do you motivate students, etc)
