I am so proud of my FI!!!!!!

I just have to let everyone know how proud I am of my FI. Since February, he has been in Albany in the NY State Trooper Academy . In addition to it being incredibly trying physicially (can you say 400-500 push-ups and sit-ups a day?), it's been amazingly emotionally stressful because we've had to go several days without speaking (we've lived together for almost 4 years - so it's a big adjustment for us) - plus it's military - so he gets screamed at all day.

One of the toughest aspects is the academic curriculum. In school he was a self-professed bad student - plus he's been out of school and study-mode for over 10 years. There's 4 tests that he has to pass, and if he fails any one of them, he's out - no questions asked! He took what is supposed to be the hardest one this past Monday and he got a 94!!!!!!! He was well-above the class average - not to mention that about 25 people failed it!

I am so proud of him - I'm sitting here trying to come up with little surprises for this weekend so I can shower him with praise and show him how much he amazes me! He still has another 3 months to go - but it's pretty much smooth sailing from here!

that is great news! My brother is in the Police Academy in Maine as we speak & my poor SIL is going through the same thing! I know the training & cirriculm is so hard! My brother sounds so depressed on Sunday evenings when I speak to him...Luckily he only has 2 more weeks!

He rules!!! And yes, he's certainly getting a big homecooked meal (but I do that every Friday).

Congratulations!!!!!! That's wonderful news!!! You know, it would be ok for you to get him flowers with a card that says how proud you are of him. Or even just a balloon that says Congrats!

It's a six month academy - so he's just now at the half-way point! It was really tough the first few weeks - but it's getting more routine now. Sunday's suck the most, because we both mope around all day because he leaves around 5pm to go back up .

Thanks for the comments - I'm just so proud of him. And as silly as it may be, I am going to get balloons for the front door when he comes home tomorrow night ! Thanks for the idea!
