As you all can see I am getting married on 777. My invitations are still not out. I was going to order them like 4 months ago but a relative of mine said that she wanted to make them. We went back and forth for a while because I really just wanted to buy them so I don't have to rely on anyone. she mentioned that she wanted to start making invitations as a business so I would really be helping her out. Eventually I gave in. I asked her to make me a sample so I know what I am getting. Basically at the end of April she mentioned that she cannot make them because the style I wanted required a card stock folder and she could not find anywhere to to fold the card.
So basically I was ticked because I called the company I was originally going to order from and they said it will take 6 weeks which will give me invitations in June. That is not good for a July wedding so I started looking at other options.
I came accross the envelopments line and I thought I could make them myself so I ordered all the stuff. She called me and convinced me to send her all the stuff and she would make them immediately. She said she initially could not make it because of the paper folder but since envelopments were already folded it would be no problem.
Stupid me had everything sent to her. In her defense she got everything last monday.

I had to continue here because I think my post was too long.
But if it were me I would have been done in 2-3 days. Basically its been a week and still no invitations. I spoke to her last week and told her that if she was not done by the weekend, she should fedex it (on my account) today so I can have it by Wednesay and finish it. I called yesterday and she did not pick up. I called today and I did not get a response. I got a text message a few minutes ago saying that today was her graduation and she's off to dinner. She said she will call later. I am not saying her graduation is not important. I am just saying if she knew she had all of this going on she should not ask to do this stuff. I was perfectly happy buying invitations.
777 is a popular date and now I am scared that no one will come because if I am lucky and get it out next week I am only giving people 2 weeks to RSVP. Who does that??
So basically I am spending all of this money and I may end up with very few people. I am so sad that I was that stupid to let someone help me. Did I mention I had a dream that this happened like 3 months ago? What is wrong with me. Why didn't I follow my instincts? Till my invites are out, this is what I will be doing

oh, sweetie, you'll be ok. did you send out save the dates? do you guys have a wedding website up and running? if not, you can do the website pretty quickly and for free and spread the site address around just as quick. that's one way to nail people down for the date! and everyone here can help. just tell us what you need and we'll all pitch in with ideas and stuff.

Outside of NY, no one really mails invitations earlier than 6 weeks before the date of the wedding. Its just NYers who mail 8 weeks before.
Using that logic, here are your dates:
Wedding Date: 7/7/07 RSVP Date: 6/16/06 Mail Date: 5/26/07
This would be mailing 6 weeks before the wedding, with an RSVP date 3 weeks before the wedding. Its not terrible really, and honestly you don't give your RH the REAL final numbers until the week of the wedding when you pay your final
It would have been nice if you could have mailed your invitations earlier, but you can't go back in time ... you just have to move forward now.
Also .... if you mailed a STD, then a lot of your guests already know about the wedding date.
I hope this helps ....

I am so sorry you are going through this... it sounds so stressful It may not seem like it but what someone else said is right, you do have some time. I don't know if you want to do this and spend even more money but I ordered my invtations online at invitations4sale.com They came within a week after I ordered them and they look gorgeous. They are great quality and were affordable. Their customer service was also excellent. FM me if you want more info. I hope it all works out for you.

I sent mine out 3/25 and my RSVP date was 4/25-you are fine! The people who want to be there will be there-yes its a popular day-but that means nothing when it comes to someone important in your life being at your wedding

I had a similar mailing situation. FH and I were faced with a death in the family right as our invitations were to go out. We waited two weeks to send them. Some of our invitations just went out last week and we have a 6/1 RSVP date. I think a lot of LI Brides send their invitations out super early, which is fine, but don't let it make you feel like you're insanely late. Truth be told, you're probably only a few days behind...
Order some invites online (I got mine from einvite.com in a few days...gorgeous...) and enlist some help in stuffing and addressing them...and get them out!!! Your responses will be rolling in before you know it!!!

08er crashing don't let this stress you, you'll make it through. Talk to her tomorrow and let her know how you feel then tell her they need to be done in the next few days.

have people start spreading the word that your wedding is on 7-7-07.... so even if htey don't have the invite they have an idea your wedding is coming up.
