My closest friend from work was pregnant, due on March 19th.

Well, she went on Friday to a place called the Stork Connection, a place that has techs there, who will do sonograms and take the video for you. ITs not a doctors office, but it is a place to do those things.

Well, when she got home from it, with her pictures and video in hand, she had a call from her doc on the machine to call ASAP. She called and he said to go directly to the Hospital.

Well, there was no heartbeat on the baby. The techs found this out and contacted the doctor, because they are not licensed docs, they could not tell her.

Well, she had to be induced and deliver the baby.

The baby was a girl, 5 oz, and 8 inches long. She has been named Amalia, and my friend is having a memorial service this week for her. AN autopsy is being conducted and she will know the cause of death soon.

Please give as many prayers as you can...this is such a sad and hard time...we were so happy for her, she was a happy and glowing mommy-to-be ...it was her first, they had tried for a year, and the thought was getting through the crucial 3 months. But, never in our wildest nightmares, would we think she could lose the baby this far along. SO, its total devastation, and I ask for all your prayers to go out to her and her husband.

I am so sorry to hear that. I know what you must be going thru.

My cousin was Due the end of the September and in August (1 month from her due date) she went to the Drs. for her regular check up, and sadly there was not heartbeat.

She too had to be induced and give birth, and the worst part was that her husband was in Punta Cana celebrating his 40th birthday. Myself and another cousin and of course her parents were there for her during her birth. It was so emotional.

She had the memorial service 2 days later and it was so emotional. All I can say is, she is going to need all the support she can get. She should also go for therapy soon after. It really helped my cousin to cope with the death.

OMG, I'm so sorry for your friend. I can't even imagine her devastation.

I am so sorry for your friend.

I had to go to an infants funeral when I was pregnant. One of the parents at my daycare's 2nd child was born with a heart defect, and passed 3 days after he was born. It was one of the sadest things I ever had to do. Try and be strong for your friend she is going to need you.

I am not a parent but I can't iamgine what it must be like to lose a child let alone go through the process of delivering a still-born child. How devastating! No one should ever have to go through that. I will keep her in my prayers!

Thanks for the prayers girls, please keep them coming...

I spoke to her today, she had originally planned on coming back to work today, but she is an emotional wreck...she is very depressed and still questions why it had to happen to her...I am so soo sad for her...

I have the same job description as her, and so I am trying my damnest to catch her up, but in the process making my stuf pile up...but if it means it will make something a little easier on her in her return, I would let my work build up for weeks...I am trying to be here for her but sometims I just have to cry along with her....I knew all she went thru to finally be pregnant, the excitement, the glow...everything...she made the comment how can she celebrate thanksgiving, when she has nothing to be thankful for right now....I pointed out her husband and the strong family and friend backbone she has, but unless I am in her shoes, I wil never know her true thougths and feelings...I just wish I could make it all better
