we haven't even begun the painting yet! i know its great that our rooms are so much bigger now but it takes forveer to paint - and just two rooms so far! - dh and i are trying to save $$ and do it ourselves but geezz!!! its taking forever and we wind up covered in paint (my nails and hair have paint in them even after showering!! its like i have gone intermiteently white haired and forget my manicure!!)!!!
we just finished the last coat of primer today and now hopefully monday will start on painting......it better get easier when we try to do flooring with the help of a friends who knows how....but somehow, i doubt it!

I feel your pain!!!! We painted and primed everything ourselves! And it took forever! There are some mistakes I made when I was painting the bedroom closet doors....and they're still there because I just don't have the energy to break out the paintbrushes again!!!! But the good part is that it looks great...and when you look around, you have the satisfaction of knowing that you two did it all yourselves!

Thats why I will never paint again if I have anything to do about it. I'd rather pay a painter to come in and do a good job. I hate painting.

Deirdre we will be in your place in a couple of weeks! And I don't think that most of the rooms have been painted since the 70's . The one good things is my Dad is a painter and a wallpaper hanger!

I know the feeling - but we are doing it one room at a time we weren't rushing it. A year later and we are close to being finished. We just finished the kitchen today. We only have our halls, 4th bedroom (waiting - that will be a bay room when we get around to going there!) and laundry room left.
I actually don't mind the painting part. It is the taping, the prep and clean up that takes forever. We thought about hiring a painter but forsomething we can easily do ourselves we rather not waste our money. We may hire someone to do the halls though....we have stairs and over the stairs will be very tough and very high!
