I am so stressed out...

I am so stressed out...

I started a new job in December and at first I thought it was going to be ok..but that has been proven wrong. This job has me stressed out beyond belief, and I have only been there for 3 months. I am sitting here in tears..because they make it seem like I am supposed to KNOW everything when in fact I don't. There are so many things to remember, people to deal with and work styles and bars that have been set by others that I feel it is almost impossible to live up to any of their expectations. Corporate america ***** and honestly as much as I need a job..I don't think anything is worth THIS much stress. I'm pregnant now too..so I'm extra emotional...and honestly after today I feel like quitting.

Im sorry you feel like this. Things will hopefully get better. Dont stress too much for the baby's sake. I know how you feel I am also in corporate america and it is all about butt kissing. what do you do?

I'm sorry to hear that you are so stressed. It sounds like you have gone through a lot this year, even happy stress is stress. I think you need to communicate to your managers that you are new there and don't know everything. But whatever you do, your health needs to be your top priority right now so don't let people push you to working too hard or doing things that you are not ready to do.

We use E&Y for a lot of our legal services and all I can tell you is that I feel for you...thats why I work for a big company (legal dept.) and would NEVER go back to a law firm...the money is not worth the stress or aggrevation. I know E&Y is not a law firm but their work ethic is just like law firm's...they work you to the bone...

My suggestion to you is that you stick it out, go on maternity leave and just don't come back there. While you're out, look for a job in a big company where there is a lot more flexibility.

Thanks so much girls!! I actually talked this over with DH and he is so supportive. He basically told me whatever I need/want to do he is behind me 100%. If I make it up until August...I will probably not come back.

This is a HUGE culture shock for me..especially having coming from a non profit hospital where people do NOTHING all damn day and get away with it. I miss my old job..but not the people.
