I am so upset.. I need help!! (with poll)

Hello Girls,

Ok.. My cousin (third cousin, extend family), is getting married in March 06 (3 months b/f me), and

I just found out 1 hr ago, that his wife to be ordered the same dress as me.. Not the same one but.. she ordered the Capri Marie.... and my dress is Capri (both by Maggie Sottero)

So mine... Sweetheart neck, with pearls, in white, and over-sized slip

Her's.. Straight neck line, flowers, ivory, no slip..

No one is my family knows what my dress looks like, I been keeping it a secret.. b/c I wanted it to be special, and I got this dress b/c it was different..

Now my family will see it before I wear it...

HELP.. What would you do if you were me???

I want to thank everyone.. you all made me feel alot better.. I am going to keep the dress.. It is the dress of my dreams.. and I should settle on what I want.. All that metters is my FH is surprise.. Thank you all very much it ment alot to me that you were there for me!!

I'd keep it. They don't sound identical anyway. Remember the bride makes the dress not the other way around.

I've seen both, and while the bottom on both dresses are similar, the tops are very different. Plus yours is white with a slip, and hers is ivory without one, so it will be different!!

Not to mention how many people are going to remember the exact same details of the dresses 3 months later??

I say keep the one you have. I have tried it on and it is gorgeous!!

I just looked at Maggie's website to see the two dresses. IMHO, because the top of the two dresses is so completely different, and yours will be white and hers will be ivory there is no need to buy a new dress.

However, IF it is going to make you crazy, AND more than 50% of the guests will be the same, then change it.

keep it, it doesn't sound like they are the same. Also, no one really is going to be paying attention to the details of the dress, it would only be you who notices it.
And thirdly, it will be special and different because its on YOU

Jen Keep the dress!!! You KNOW you love it and its what you want. I dont even think that people will notice because of the differences between the two

oh wow that really s u c k s!!! i have the capri also, and my brother and his fi decided to have their wedding 2 months before me and i made sure i checked out her dress to make sure it wasn't the same or similar. the capri is unique looking which is why i love it so much, so i can understand what a crappy situation you are in. i think i would keep it, but its a tough call. oh boy, good luck :) ~lacey

the dresses are pretty much the same with the exception of the sweetheart neck vs straight neck, other details you have to look up close to notice. but even so, if its the one its the one. ~lacey

I agree - if it's the one, than you have to keep it! By the time you come down the aisle, no one will remember the other gown!
