post my resume on Monster and see what I get....we are pretty much set on leaving NY before the year is out so I was thinking it was pointless to change jobs now...once it gets warmer out it'll slow down tremendously

You may as well try it. You gotta think of it this way. you spend so much time per week at your job, you should at least do something you like. I am in the same situation as you are now...except Im not moving. I hate my job, but I am looking for a new one. Its not worth it to stay somewhere you arent happy.

I think it partly depends on how soon you are planning to move out of NY...because if it's just around the corner (say, 5-6 months) I would stick it out. I am just too scared of the red flags that are raised by short employment histories.

no offense taken!!!!!!!!!! it has not hurt me persay. but on the same token it hasn't helped me in the sense of building a history with a company and the benefits that can come from doing that.

Btrflygrl--that is my situation! Except for the crappy pay, I work for a sexist chauvanistic jerk who thinks he's funny when he makes his sexist obnoxious comments! I can't stand it anymore.

no offense taken!!!!!!!!!!
Just wasn't sure if that came out all judgemental...
Shana, I was just thinking - if you really really really hate it, then you should start looking for another job now. It's just not worth it to be completely miserable. Good luck!
