I am such a shameless hussy... I cheated...
ON MY DRESS!!!
This weekend, I finally caved in and succumbed to my dress doubts and tried on OTHER GOWNS! I'd been feeling doubtful as I sat here desperately trying to shed pounds and waiting nervously to get that call that my gown is in. I felt so ashamed and silly that I was still looking at other gowns, wanting to maybe change my dress that took me SO long to find. Seeing some other brides on here have dress doubts, go shopping and buy another dress and be thrilled, didn't make me feel any better because this was not an option for me. My gown costs so much money that I think FH would leave me if I changed dresses!
So, I thought that maybe I could look for a second dress to change in to at the reception (this was just my way of covering up my doubts, I think). Anyway, sure enough, this weekend I ended up in a bridal salon, supposedly looking at tiaras, and before I knew it, I was in a beautiful satin strapless ballgown!! Then another and another!!
I learned two things:
1. I lost weight and dropped a whole dress size!! WOOO HOOO!!
2. I STILL LOVE MY DRESS. I think it is still the one for me. As beautiful (and affordable - I only tried on sale dresses, just in case!) as these gowns were, they only made me a bit more sure that I chose the right dress in the first place. Now, I just can't wait for my gown to come in!
Anyway, I just wanted to share so that other dress doubters out there suffering in secret like I was know that's it's okay and normal to have dress doubts. And not everyone who has dress doubts gets a new gown (even though it's okay if you do). And it's okay to go out and try on MORE GOWNS if you need to... it might just make you feel better about YOUR gown. I know that for me, this little taudry tryst with more wedding gowns 3 months before my wedding, definitely relieved some dress stress I was feeling.
