I am supposed to be writing a paper..

And of course I am on here instead... I wrote a paragraph and can't get anywhere..
Its on interracial marriage, anyone want to help me out?

Well, its a class on cultural diversity, so I am basically writing about attitudes towards interracial marriage throughout U.S. history. Its only a 3-page paper, double spaced, but I am surffering major writer's block!

are you able to write about real life people in these relationships? Maybe quoting someone would be a good intro ... I know there are some brides in interracial/interethnic relationships, me being one of them...
maybe you could open with a statistic of some sort..

Sounds like an interesting class

I'm only kidding!!!!! Well for me it didn't. I was engaged to my daughters father and called it off 4 weeks before the wedding!!!! BEST CHOICE I ever made in my whole life!!!!

I would have settled!!!!!
And had I settled, I would have never of mwet the man that hasmade all my dreams come true!!!
JMO but, I feel a lot of the time there is a big cultural difference and it can cause PLENTY of conflicts!!!! This doesn not happen in all cases but some!!! I can only speak for myself!!!!

I know you were kidding, and I do not want to turn the initial poster's post into drama, however your comment is insulting to me personally since I stated I am in an interethnic relationship... What didnt work for you is your issue, but not true for many of us on this board. No hard feelings, I dont get mad too easily, but you do have my heart pumping a bit fast right now!

Re- Read my post. # 1 it was a joke, even stated that and # 2 I said I CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR MYSELF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter is bi-racial!!! I WOULD NEVER PUT anyone down...ever!!!! She is the most precious thing to me!!! It all depends on the individuals themselves. In my situaion there was too much of a cultural difference and I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with him!! It has nothing to do with you or your FH or anyone else!!!! Again..... I can only speak for myslef and my past relationship.
And I totally understand your heart beating, you are in love and you would stand up for FH and your relationship in a second!!! I totally repect that!!!!! I would do just the same!!!!!
But I was talking about me, I thought I made that clear, but I have no problem saying it again!!! I don't want to be misunderstood by anybody!!!!

I also stated that I understood you were kidding, i just didnt think it was necessary... ...i came here to help the poster and thats what i will do, i am not going to cause or get involved with drama on a board...its NOT my style! Interesting topic. My brother would love to participate I'm sure. When is the paper due

He's lives in NC with his second wife and two kids. His current wife (12 years now) and his first wife (mother of his oldest 2 kids) are Caucasian.

I know he's told me about some of the comments and stares over the years and some mean things that have been said to his kids.

You don't need to apologize, you did nothing wrong. You were bothered by the comment b/c you stand by it 100% , you believe in it, so don't apologize for something you believe in!!!
And I am on the other side where I feel it doesn't always work out b/c of the cultural difference. This is life. I've done bi- racial relationships dozens of times and I finally realized it wasn't for me. It's just my situation, my life. I have nothing against it or anyone involved in one!!!! And I AM one to speak b/c I brought a bi-racial child into this world!!!! And she is by far a little princess!!!!
