fh said this year we were not going to spend a lot on each other for v-day . so i only got him candy , boxers and t-shirts he said he needed.
well last night we celebrated v-day cause he worked the whole weekend. and he took me out to eat,went to the movies(saw hitch the movie was great go see it) and he got me tickets to see 'WICKED'.
I feel so bad .should i go out and get him something else?

Don't feel bad...FH did the same thing for me...He took me to the wax museum, dinner in NYC & then gave me 2 dozen roses...We discussed that we were not going to celebrate...I only got him 2 packages of m&m's

I got tix for my birthday (well, it was for christmas but its the weekend of my birthday - april).
Are you around the city? What I would do is go to a restaurant and get a gift certificate and make reservations for after the play. That way, you can give him a little something then too. I make sure to get the G.C. because knowing boys, they'll just try to pay.
But otherwise, FH always gets me more than I get him. Boys don't ususally care. They care about other things.

Then how about a romantic nite instead...candles,a sexy outfit....you can figure out the rest. Im sure that will make up for the tickets

You can just spoil him for the next holiday or his birthday. I wouldn't worry about making up the difference in gifts right now.

I would not feel bad at all. We all do what is within our means (and situations) to do. FH and I discussed Valentine's Day before the 14th and decided on a $ amount to spend on each other. We know this year was going to be financially stressful for the both of us. I ended up buying him a book and he got me theater tickets - hardly equal cost-wise. First I felt guilty but then I thought to myself that he makes more than I do and he will ALWAYS make more than I do. We simple cannot go tit-for-tat on everything. He exceeded what we planned for and we were both happy in the end.

I got him boxers and two books. He bought me a new cell phone! Even playing field?? I think not... I felt bad, because he knows I have NO money (currently unemployed and taking 19 credits between Grad School and finishing up a few gaps in my undergrad).
