I am wrong?

I am wrong?

I have a friend who I hooked up with DH's friend. Since then, I dont see or hear too much from her unless we are doing things altogether. I've learned to accept that BUT it seems that I no longer wanna do anything with them anymore bc they can NEVER EVER be on time! I mean for anything! They (and it's HIM) have at times made us wait up to 1 - 1 1/2 hrs for them. DH thinks I let it get to me too much.. but I mean c'mon! Just a phone call and a little consideration is all I ask! It's completely out of control!

if it's every single time you hang out with them that they are 1 - 1.5 hours late, then no, you aren't wrong. that's frustrating! i wouldn't want to make plans with them either.

i agree with being frustrated...
I actually have a FI that runs late... but I ALWAYS call to let the people know that i am.. and how much longer I'll be..

Seriously - it's about 9/10 times. No joke. And if it was 10-15 min late - no prob. AND if they are on time, they HAVE to make a big thing out of it and say it! You know... I am always pretty punctual but even I can be running 10 min lat at times. No big deal... I have fought about it with them before and they make a joke out of it and say i am like a nazi about time. It's only them I have a problem with about this. No one else! Dh is so passive that he'll never argue about it. But it infuriates me! I can't help but say something and it usually starts our night off on the wrong foot!

I would be upset too, and we have friends like that. what we do is if we set the time for say 7pm, we automatically get ready to be late... Then if they're late, you haven't wasted the time waiting, but if they're on time and you're late, they'll know what its like to wait a while

I feel your frustration the Best Man is like that. OH and also a few of our BP as a matter of fact. It used to annoy FH and I ALOT but now we know better. We all agree to meet up at say 10:30 pm. That would be 11:30 pm their time.

We have tried that and you believe that one time we told them we'd meet at 10 - so we show up at 11 and they still werent there! They decided to stroll in a 11:45! Just never seems to fail. Makes me so mad and my hubby gets mad at me for letting it bother me so much. Or how how when you are meeting someone for dinner? That's just so inconsiderate to show up late! Ah - hello - people are starving! One time I went ahead and ordered without them. I just dont' care. Why should I if they dont?

Re: I am wrong?

Well then that is rude! We have all heard of being fashionably late but that is just nasty!!

Why don't you do this: The next time you make plans say we will meet at xxx place at 9:00 pm. If they are not at xxx place by 9:15 pm, then do what you and FH have to do and move on.
Don't call them, don't wait any longer.
Give them the 15 minute professor rule! Then if they start bit$hing that you left them behind, then say well we gave you 15 minutes and that is all you need. Next time be on time!

Re: I am wrong?

I know - drives me up the friggin' wall! But dh is too kind that he rather just hang around and wait it out and just have a few drinks. So I said to him that he'd be really po-ed if he didn't have me there to sit with him ... and of course he agreed! He knows that I am always going to explode about it. Just not right! And after a few drinks or towards the end of the night, his friend always winds up apologizing to ME (notice not US) and will then admit that he was wrong.. but never from the start. And it's so not since bc it's ` always the alcohol talking! Aaarrrgghhh!
