And I have to make an appointment to go down with FH and to talk about I dunno what... But i asked about how much it's going to be... and she told me she recommends that we become an active parishner and the wedding is going to be $300 the music $200 and clean up (throwin rice or something) $50... if we're not an active parishner its $450 for the wedding and the music and clean up are the same... i figured it out... if i donate even $5 a week.. starting now.. it's still over $150... so i rather not be a parishner... am i wrong?
oh and another thing... i found out I dont have to do my confirmation to get married... I only have to do it if I want to become a G-dparent... But I think I might still take the classes... Get in touch with g-d.. lol

Re: I called my church today....
Hmmm it doesn't sound like too much of a price difference. I think it might be a good idea to get confirmed especially if you think your going to be a godparent.

Re: I called my church today....
You are lucky you were able to get info out of your church. Mine will not give any info until i go sit with my priest (has to be the priest who will conduct the wedding) and the priest i want is outside the parish and he has not returned my calls!!!

Re: I called my church today....
Are you sure its just to be a Godparent?? I thought you couldn't have your own children baptised if you haven't received all the sacrements??
Either way, its cool that you want to take the classes!! Have fun!!

Re: I called my church today....
I called my church yesterday and had to leave a message. The people in the parish center do not sound so bright let's see if the appropriate person gets the message. Anyway, FH is going to run into the same problems that your having not being confirmed. I hear some churches will allow you to get married without being confirmed and others dont. Someone even told me their church charged them more of a 'donation' in order for her DH to get married in the church because he was only baptized Catholic and not confirmed! Anyone else running into this problem?

Oh, with thw whole thing with beng an 'active parishner' that means they send u an envelope to ur house so you could 'donate' money to the church... that's why i think its going to end up being more money if i do.... $5 a week for approx 101 weeks.. that $505 dollars... then i just pay the $150 less because i'm active..... i think thats how it works.... it still more if u add it up...
