I can not believe some people Vendor Rant very long-

In January I wengt dress shopping for the first time (only time) saw a dress that I loved in that moment & thought it was the one for me. Instead of giving a deposit at that , I decided to go back a month later, this way I can see if I stll love the dress.

I didn't:for the ownertold me that the designer would alter the dress so I would like it better. Her shop was very crowded, and people were waiting to be helped so I felt very rushed, and reluctantly gave her a check as a deposit., I called the next day & she was unavailable so I was told she would call me back, she never did. They are closed on Monday so I called and spoke w/ her on Last tuesday night. She did not order my dress, at that point so I told not to,I also asked her to hold my check for me to pick up this weekend she agreeded. We left it that I would meet w/ her this weekend to look at different dresses.

I called my bank & placed a stop payment on the check.

This morning I get a call at my office, and it's an irrate bridal store rep.

here's how the conversation went:

Shop clerk: I'm getting very worried, your running out of time to get your dress (my wedding is over a year away). then she follows with you missed your last appointment,(My next app. was this weekend) Then she says there was a problem w/ your check. (I put a stop payment on the check & cancelled my order with you, why would you attempt to deposit my check) She doesn't answer...

then she told me to pay the fee she recv'd from her bank.

I cancalled my apointment & I will not be shopping there again,

Thats horrible!!!! They sound very disorganized!!! I cant believe that store operates that way!!

Good thing you did what you did. Going back a month later showed you that you not only didnt like the dress...but that the place isnt on the up and up!

good foryou thats so stupid.. she prob. just didnt understand some people dont listen... youll find something you like with people who are nice.. i highly reccommend Ranetes in lindenhurst (where ill be getting my BM dresses) or Bridal suite in bayshore (where i bought my dress)

my mom suggested renata's, I feel like such a jerk for raving about his shop (when I went the 1st time) w/o really knowing what I was dealing with

its a GREAT place and the prices are GREAT!!! its def. no high end place though.. its a mom and pop kinda place. but the people are so nice this place has been around forever my friends sisters used them and said they were great!

thanks, I thought it would be this big issue finding bm dresses for all bodies that wouldn;t break banks & have style, now it's finding my dress

don't worry about finding your dress, there are so many styles out there you're definitely going to find something you love.

and a word of advice, call first to make sure they have a good selection of mermaid dresses, I find that when I ask about these, stores only have 1 or 2 for me to try on.

Thanks for the tip, that's dissapointing to hear that they'll only have 2 styles,

I think I want a sweetheart neckline w/ a mermaid bottom

no they have more than 2 styles but a lot of stores don't carry too many mermaid style dresses

sorry to hear about the whole mixup on the check.. i am scared to feel rushed too with trying on dresses. I hope your next experience is better.

omg, good think you put a stop payment on that check. that is terrible!! good for you, you couldn't have handled the situation any better.
