yet another afternoon and evening spent going through the guestlist and all the extras that the FMIL wants to invite. She has disinvited, invited, disinvited again etc about 5 people which has caused a domino effect with the rest of the FH's family NOT coming or NOT Rsvping to make a point.... I feel like this is Groundhog's day and I am reliving the same effing day again and again... didnt we already talk about your niece's boyfriend of 2 months not being invited??
Does it ever end? Seriously, at what point do your inlaws stop making irrational demands???

when the wedding is over I am sorry to say. Don't let her get to you just tell her thats it no more my MIL did the same and she ended up not sitting and socializing with her friends she invited (we don't even know them at all). She was too hung over to even enjoy the wedding. We were pissed it could have saved us. I just ignored to the point to where we told her everything is finalized nothing can be added or taken out. I was so stressed the last weeks til the big day becasue she was picking out little things and saying things about them. She didnt like where we picked from the get go she want expensive but we were paying for it. It turned out to be a great day and everyone raved about everything. Just enjoy your day and the rest of planning and just tell her NO MORE IT IS MY WEDDING!! Is she paying for it if not tell her she reached her limit. Good luck and

Sorry the in laws are causing such issues. Just remember your day will be perfect and all this crap will be over. You will get to enjoy for day and your new husband.

I'm so sorry! maybe its time to put your foot down. do what i do at work - send EVERYONE an email (including your FMIL) or a phone call. saying - just a heads up, THIS is the cut off date for changes. :)

So sorry you're going through this. At some point, you have to stop worrying about making everyone else happy and making you and FH happy. It's the only thing you can do to keep your sanity. Hang in there!

That would def make me mad. Tell her there are no disinvites or reinvites, period. and no backsies. new invites, no room, sorry.
My plan was just to say, here's your 90 invites, do what you will, but I better know them. that goes for my mom too. once I get a final it's just that. if they show up we try to make room and that's it. I wouldn't want to be angry with anyone or have an argument over all of this but other people's disorganization shouldn't give you problems especially with your future family. good luck

Hey date twin, With just 4 weeks to go, get firm and tell her absolutely no more changing the guest list. It is final as of this moment. The seating chart has to be done and the final head count given to the RH. If someone's feelings get hurt, then tough sh*t. FMIL should have invited them sooner.
How does FH react to this ?

thank you ladies... I've calmed down, but that eerie calmness where absolutely nothing could rattle me.
Thanks for the advice too, the problem is that we have confronted them, spoken with them, my family called etc. and its this blatant disregard. My mother settled stuff last night (as shes the hostess blah blah blah) and my FMIL emails her this morning STILL asking to add people?

I'm going through kinda the same thing but with my own parents. My dad just keeps adding people but I'll have to sit down with them and shorten my list... alot...
