I know how you feel. I just got my first permanent job. It took me four years. I also have a reading degree because eled is so hard. Could you go back for a special ed or reading degree because there are much openings for that field then elem ed. That is what I did. Or just be a teacher aide in districts that give benefits and then once you prove yourself usually they hire within

there is really is not that many openings for that either on the island i have both of those certifications actually i have 3 but the budgets are bad that is the prob. I was excessed two years in a row two different districts in the special ed dept. it is crazy, like i said i am going on 5 years and i only have a leave now

i wish i could say it gets better but my moh has the same degree and she has been looking for almost 2 years now there is like almost nothing .. good luck though maybe u'll be one of the lucky ones

I was going around schools today (Queens) all dressed up in a suit handing out resumes too and NOTHINNGGGGG- FM me if you need to chat- I KNOWWW how to feel!

It is frustrating - I know I've been there - it took me being a consultant for schools to pursue me for jobs - but now I like where I am.....

I graduated with a master's in guidance.. I had such a hard time, now I am doing social work... something will work out.... sometimes not exactly what we want though at the time.....
