my father passed away. It feels like forever but, still hurts just as much.
I miss him and wish he was here to walk me down the isle in 10 weeks.

I'm so sorry for your loss....no matter how much time goes by he is still your father and losing him must of been so difficult. this also is a time in your life where you are going to focus on those you love who are not w/us. It *****, its hard and no one can ever replace them. I am dealing w/something similar to you, I lost my brother 6 yrs ago and it literally rips my heart out every time I think about the fact that he is not physically going to be there.

To combat that, I am trying to think of LOTS of obvious and subtle ways to incorporate him in my wedding. For Example....
My father b/f he walks me down will be lighting a memorial candle in his honor, then my nephew (his son) will carry his candle down the aisle, placing it on a pedestal next to the groomsmen, my amazing FH then suggested my nephew stand in for his father as his Jr Best Man.

That is just the beginning of my list and I have a TON of other ideas so if your interested please feel free to FM me and I will give you the run down

Hope this helps!!!!

I lost my sister 2 years ago. And although it Su*ck's I dont want my day to be about loss. It hurts enough that she is gone. But for me I cant have empty picture frames with poems, or a memorial table or things liek that.

I want to be VERY clear that I respect that every bride is doing whats right for them and i think its GREAT! ABSOLUTLY great!

I am doing something much more subtle, which is right for me. I have a necklace of my sisters and will wrap it around the Bo-k at the top. I know some other ladies on the message board are taking a locket (or something similar) and pinning it to the Bo-k.

I am so sorry for your loss and give you, and all the other ladies, a big hug!

Remember, your day, your way. You do whats right for you.

I am so sorry he is not here with you to see you now and on your wedding day. I can't even imagine.

Today would've been my grandmother's 93rd birthday. June 18 has always been Nana's birthday to me, and it was incredibly hard waking up this morning and her not being here to call. It's still on my calendar because she was alive in January when I wrote in everything. She passed away in February.

It is so difficult when people close to you aren't here any longer. Just think of how much they touched our lives!

My nana said to me the day before she died that she was coming to our wedding, whether I invite her or not! It's like she knew I wouldn't be inviting her... and now I also know she'll be there.

Your father will be there with you, too, walking you down to aisle, always in your heart.
