I can't believe it (I'm very sad)

I am a teacher and i always take pics of my kids. well, we're getting ready for the holidays and i was going to tape them practicing yesterday, but with such a hectic day - i couldn't. anyway, i had to rush off to a class last night and forgot my bag w/my digital camera and my new camcorder. I called my friend and asked her to put the bag in my closet and to lock the door. she said 'no problem' and i didnt give it a second thought.

i came in this morning, went to the closet toget teh cameras - no cameras. looked in the cabinets, no cameras, looked around the room - nothing. i figured she may have brought them home instead. when she came in i asked her where she put the cameras yesterday and her face went pale. she said she forgot to lock them up and then we began to panic.

long story short - no cameras, no witnesses, lots of alibis and no reimbursement from the school. i am so sad...i feel violated. my fiance always tells me to keep my cameras home b/c they're expensive, but i feel bad for my kids cause i always take pics of them for their parents.

i put up reward posters but so far, no one has come forward. i feel sick. i know it coudl've been worse but in the bag are my tapes from my shower last week, my thanksgiving dinner w/my parents and siblings and videos from my stepson w/his family whom he doesn't see very often.

so sad...thanks for letting me decompress....ugh

Two weeks ago my waller was stolen from my bag ..in church! Anywayz the next day I got a call from Starbucks telling me that someone had returned my wallet to them. Although the cash was gone, my cards, IDs etc were all there.

thanks ladies...i've been praying to saint anthony, so hopefully i'll walk into my room and see it sitting somewhere. i stressed the fact to everyone i spoke to ( cause u just dont know who would do such a thing) that the most important thing is my memories - i want my tapes back if i cant get anything else. what use would they have for my family memories anyway? ugh...it makes me sick...

and what ***** is that the school basically said, oh well...nothing can be done for you. ugh..

Im so sorry and sorry for that person that would stoop so low and do this to you very sad

she feels terrible, but it wont bring the cameras/videos back. she offered to pay, but she's having a baby in may and i can't do that to her. i was a bit upset though, i thought she would have followed through, but in the end, its my fault b/c 1 - i brought them to school and 2 i forgot them. that's it..if i didnt do 1 and 2 there couldn't have been a theft.

Sounds like a janitor or something BLATENTLEY helped themselves to your camera's. I'd be utterly distraught, cause my son's teacher's do the same thing. I'm sorry this happened to you. I'd ask who was on duty to clean the class rooms etc. By the way....does your school have cameras? I'd soooooooooo totally wanna bag the low life.

everyone thinks its the janitor, but no one can be sure. she said she unlocked our wing last night before she cleaned the rooms upstairs ? doesn't make sense to unlock rooms when you're not in them, but whatever. then she said that its the holiday season and people will do anything... its weird b/c i dont want to think that she could've done it, but who knows. i've been here for 4 yrs and never had a problem w/anyone - at least that i know of. it feels especially messed up b/c it was in my room, not the parking lot or lobby...whoever took it knew they were taking it from me. it's all sorts of effed up crap....

range of emotions are like the spectrum - sad, mad, defeated, angry, full of self pity...u name it, i feel it.
