'I can't believe she said that!'

Post about an 'I can't believe she said that!' situation.... (mine is wedding related)

I was sitting with friends in the law school cafe and a girl I know somewhat came and sat down and started talking about job stuff (which can be a touchy subject since some people are still hunting) and then brought up the fact that she just got engaged!

However, she then went on to talk about how her ring is 'fine' but she's disappointed that it's not bigger because her 'FH could obviously afford more, but let's not get into that right now.' She said she told him she has giant hands so she could push him to get her a bigger rock, and that if it wasnt at least X size not to bother getting her a e-ring at all. (her ring is not small by any means -- probably appx a 1 ct solitaire? Big hands is my friend who is a 6'1 college athlete with a 6'6 FH haha) She said she's going to push for an upgrade as soon as possible.

I tried to lighten the mood a little and asked how long she had been dating her FH and she said 'under a year but once you get to my age (27) you just dont wanna wait around anymore'

The last moment was when she told me she picked out $400 Amsale BM dresses. I'm sure they are gorgeous but $400! She said she had to spend a lot on her friends weddings so she wants them to spend at least as much on hers.

wow. people like that don't look at weddings for what they are - they look at them as a chance to show off who can out-do someone else and who has more money.

They'll spend a ridiculous amount on their wedding and be divorced in a few years.

WOW.. I dont see that lasting for very long.

I think FH could have put a 1/8 carat ring on my finger and my response still would have been 'SHUT UP'

one of my co-workers just recently told my boss he seemed cranky maybe he should take a nap - and he said 'oh really?' and she just kept on going, she just wouldn't shut up , i hid my face behind a wall i couldn't stop laughing, he was workin on my computer at my desk so i was kinda stuck in the situation. and she kept going and insulting him and all he said was 'i think you should quit while you're ahead' and he just walked away. didn't even fix what i needed and it wasn't like i could even get him to come back. i said something to her like are you outta your mind????? she said so what, i was like that's your boss you don't talk to him like that. she said my husband trumps my boss, i just said not at work sweetheart. this woman is in her mind 40's.
shouldn't she know better?? and she does stuff like this everyday. if she doesn't quit it my work load is going to double b/c she's gonna get her stupid azz fired!

Some people drive me crazy with stupidity!

I really don't think there is anything wrong with her.. I told FH if he didn't get me a 25 carat flawless D color rock he could just beat it.. and my bms are all wearing diamond encrusted imported silk gowns that are $10,000 each. that girl is obviously cheap compared to me!
