I've been having a bad case of the hiccups off and on for the past few days. This happens every now and then, especially when my stomach acid is on full blast (like now) or I'm having a reflux episode.
Anyway...I see a bag of sugar on the kitchen counter and remember hearing that a hiccup remedy is to put a teaspoon of table sugar under your tongue then swallow it.
IT WORKED INSTANTLY! 10 MINUTES HICCUP FREE (and counting)
I was never one for the whole drink water, hold your breath, have someone scare you, visit John Lennon's grave at midnight, drink a shot of vampire blood while standing on your head singing Mary had a little lamb, home remedies for hiccups...but this one is golden!!!

Re: I can't believe this hiccup cure really worked!
I told FH how excited I was to be hiccup free from the sugar and he said he got the same results from doing it with salt. I'll stick with sugar

Lol thats great to know! for some reason a few months ago I started getting the hiccups every day... not sure why! FH started scaring me to get rid of them which worked, but once he scared me so much I broke down in tears (while I was laughing over it of course). Since I've been overseas I stopped getting them, maybe I subconsciously just wanted the attention, lol

I'm just picturing you walking around like an anxious mess whenever you have the hiccups not knowing when your FH will leap at you from around a corner with a monster mask on! Poor thing! Try the sugar...it's easier on your heart!
