I reserved flights to Aruba already for my HM, but I am not sure about it. I have never been to Aruba, and definitely want to go, but I keep considering Hawaii. Both FH have Frequent flyer miles so we are flying for free. We have enough miles for pretty much anywhere.
I have been to Hawaii before when I was younger, and really liked it. It is just getting to expensive when I add up everything.
So what should I do:
1) Go to Aruba and stay at a beautiful resort. We are going to get the dine around program, so we will have most dinners included and breakfast included at the hotel daily. (We are going to stay on the concierge floor, where you get all kinds of little extras). Both of us have never been here, and its not so expensive, so it gives us room to spend a little extra.
2) Go to Hawaii, and stay in Oahu, and then Maui (four seasons). We are going to get the bed and breakfast deal. I hear meals are very expensive, so that will be a lot. This will be a terrific honeymoon, and FH has never been there. It is just getting pricey, and we are worried after all of the expense of the wedding. So should we just spend the extra money and to Hawaii, or go to Aruba?

I haven't been to either. But I think you should go to Aruba. Everything you mentioned above sounds wonderful! Not to say Hawaii wouldn't be, but by going to Aruba you don't have to worry about the added expense. I hope I helped!

Hawaii! Aruba is close enough where you can do it again easily! JMO!!! Both are nice, so whatever you decide you will be in a beautiful place.

I think it depends if you will ever go back to Hawaii if you don't go for your HM. If you'll go later on then go to Aruba for your HM, it really is gorgeous too. We're doing the opposite, we've been to Aruba and loved it. I wanted to go again for our HM but I realized if we don't go to Hawaii now, we may never go. Aruba is close enough where we'll probably back many times. HTH.

Uh I agree! I went on a cruise which ended up in Aruba for a full day. Not enough time there and I had a good time and it is beautiful! Again, not enough time to see Aruba But I am either hitting Hawaii or Tahitian cruise. I say go to Hawaii and JUST DO IT! I look at it where if I dont do it know...I may not get that chance. Also, price around because I just did and it just blew me away the quote I just got for Hawaii. It beat so far.....5 quotes! Its worth checking around. Good Luck!

If you know you'll never get to Hawaii (or it will take dozens of years!) to go, then I say do it now. Aruba does sound beautiful but you can always go later on as it is closer. I have a question, though. What is the dine around program and how do you get it?

We travel a lot, and I am sure we will get back to Hawaii. So I don't know what to do. I probably will stick with Aruba.

I have been to both... Hawaii to me was so beautiful but a place I was not madly in love with. I would not go there again. I stayed in Wakiki and took a cruise around the islands, which is what I would recommend.
Aruba is one of my favorite places, I have been there twice and love it more than any place in the world. It is like a little paradise. I highly recommend going there. Good Luck..tough decision.

(i HATE flying) i say stick with Aruba. you can go to Hawaii for you 5 year anniversary when you're not paying for a wedding good luck... you'll have an amazing time wherever you decide to go!

Great idea. since you are a little concerned about $$ (who isn't!!) you may be watching your pennies a little TOO closely in Hawaii to truly enjoy yourself. it sounds like you would have the room money wise to be a little more carefree in Aruba, which is what EVERYONE should be after all this wedding stress!!
