I can't even make Lasagna!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried to make it tonight to become more domestic and it looks awful! I have not tasted it yet but I don't think it is very good. I don't know how to make it. I am so stupid! I tried to follow a receipe but I don't think I did it right. Can someone tell me how to cook Lasagna Thanks

Just a tip... I haven't ever made it, but help my dad make it when he does... I know that he now gets the lasagna noodles that don't need boiling... supposedly it was a pain to have to boil the noodles and then work with them.. I would suggest getting those noodles... they taste delicious.. what is your main problem when you make it?

I did buy those noodles but they got so hard! Did I over cook it? The inside tasted great

Did you cover it with aluminum foil while baking it?

It softens the noodles
I wasn't the best cook at first, but it takes a lot of trial and error (and watching Foodnetwork )

Thank you soo much for your help!! I have been experimenting like crazy lately. I want to be able to cook for my FI when we get married. I am going to try again tomorrow with the Lasagna. Thanks again

Yeah, you need to cover with tinfoil otherwise you'll overcook it.

Not only tinfoil, make sure that the hard noodles are completely covered with sauce. The noodles soak up the sauce and soften

put a liitle sauce on the bottom of the pan before laying down the noodles so they dont stick.

i just made my first lasagna this past week for dh and he said 'wow, its greta - much better than i thought it would be...' - i got kinda upset and he didn't realize it sounded bad....he says its b/c our old oven often 'corrupted' our food but now he forgets everything comes out tasty....but don't feel bad - def try thte foil trick and then take it off about 15-20 min before its done so the cheese on top browns nicely!

I used the same pasta that you don't have to boil, and it was so delicious!! My honey loved it!! It was the easiest lasagna I ever made.

I agree, Make sure you cover the noodles with sauce so that it will soften up.

Allison that is so funny! I did the same thing. I totally messed up lasagna, and I was telling SIL Melissa about it. She's a great cook, and couldn't imagine how I could mess up lasagna. She actually asked 'Were you making your own sauce?' As if...
